Wow, already two and a half years post op (gastric bypass)! Taking control of my life has been a wonderful experience and I've learned so much about myself. I'm learning to wake up in the morning and to be grateful for the things in my life. It has also given me the chance to meet new people and to forge bonds that I never would have imagined were possible.

My Goals:
It's funny how your goals change as time goes by. My long term goal is to be between 140-150lbs. That is still my goal but I've also learned that being a healthy weight does not make me a healthy person, it is so much more. I am starting to work at making myself healthy from within as well and it's something I feel really good about.

My Program:
Right now I am not on a specific program but I am working to get there. I am looking for a BALANCED diet along with daily physical and mental fitness as well.

Personal Information:
About my surgery: OUCH! .... Well what I remember from the first day anyway.... I had major complications after surgery as I was pretty out of it and my blood pressure kept dropping. Less then 12 hours after my initial surgery I was being wheeled back in to the O.R. because I was bleeding internally. Turns out that one of my sutures was leaking pretty badly and it had to be fixed. They increased my liquid intake through I.V. and gave me 4 blood transfusions. At some point during all of this they ended up having to put a central line in my neck as I had blown a few veins and other good ones could not be located. After 2 days in ICU I was back on my feet and although it was scary, I don't regret having the surgery even for a minute. Even after all they witnessed my Mom, Dad and Aunt still has the courage to have the surgery within 6 weeks after me because of the excellent care I had! Big Thank You to Henry Ford Hospital for helping me achieve my goals!
