    Hi Carol,

Hope all is going well. I sent you a Sparkmail but thought I would get on here and say hi and see how you are. It must have been very rough not having electricity for so long. I only had my dishwasher and microwave blow out from a power surge. We got a new microwave a few weeks ago and my son and I picked up the dishwasher on Thursday and his friend's father is putting it in tomorrow just in time for Thanksgiving. emoticon At least this time I didn't have to wait three years with the dishwasher sitting in a box in my laundry room.

    Hope you are well.

    Good morning Spark Friend.

Do you find yourself being worried about what other people think about you? Or overly concerned about what others say about you? While it is natural for each of us to seek the approval of others, those who are self-confident and have a high self-esteem are able to discount the negative opinions of others and to remain assured of their own self worth.

To become less concerned with what people might be thinking, and less upset by negative things others may say...

Never guess what others might be thinking.
    Value Yourself
    Live your own life
    Make your own choices.
    Value your own opinions.
Choose to associate mostly with positive people who support you.
Never guess what others might be thinking.

Don't make assumptions.Don't Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you.
Don't guess what others might be thinking, and especially don't shoulder blame for what they may be thinking.
Value Yourself, have a great day and a wonderful week.

I am so relieved that you were spared. It sounds like a war zone. I hate that your property lost so many trees but at least your house is okay.

    Hi--

Thanks for checking up on me! Fortunately we here in inland south Jersey were spared Sandy's wrath--no power loss and little damage. Don't know why we were so lucky when Atlantic City, just 45 miles away, was hit hard. But I'm not complaining! Now we have to wait and see whether the forecast nor'easter is similarly kind...sure hope so.

    Stay safe,
    Carol

Thank God you are alright!! I was so worried about you, especially after seeing all thedevastation in Jersey. Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know. Sorry to hear about your trees. I was worried that one in our front yard might topple but didn't. The one in our side yard lost several branches and that was one of the ones that brought down a section of the fence in our side yard (our doggies' yard) Menlo had a hard time as always when the lights go out. Bob went into the basement to check our circuit breaker and Menlo followed him and we had a hard time getting him back upstairs. Indy is unmoved by anything but food as always.

So glad that you are okay. Hope you get your power back on sooner than predicted. I was quite surprised that we only lost ours for a few minutes and that no branches brought down any power lines in our neighborhood. That is usually what happens in the summer during thunderstorms. Once we lost it for five days due a branch and were one of the last ones to get power restored. We went to DC for the weekend after spending a few very hot days without our AC and we got tired of taking cold showers.

When everything gets back to normal for you, let's plan to meet up somewhere.
