March 2019 Update: Needing help with exercise. Now that the weather is getting nicer I can walk outside and garden. Doing well right now with eating whole food plant based low fat and salt and staying away from processed foods for the most part. We'll see what the next cholesterol check says. I've had minor health issues, working through those. Getting ready for a trip to England with my daughter, can't wait! Also need to be in shape for a lot of walking and hiking there.

February 2018 Update: Back to tracking my food for a while. I have 4 pounds to lose to get back to my healthy goal weight but am more concerned about what I'm eating. I've been indulging too often in unhealthy snacks and too much fat in my diet which I can physically feel. My body is telling me what not to do and I'm listening.

Nov. 2017 Update - Back on SP to get inspiration for more exercise. I met my goal weight a while back and have been maintaining pretty well. But here are the holidays again and haven't been exercising like I should either. So for an ounce of prevention...

Lots of ups and downs in the years I've been on SparkPeople. The weight crept back up February 2015 to November 2015. So a new start, new goals. I knew what I should be eating and how much, and to exercise more. Every tool I need is on this site.

I have to give kudos to Sparkpeople challenges especially X-Weighted group for helping me lose the pounds I gained in 2015. Now I have even more reason to lose more and keep it off after being diagnosed with high cholesterol and some artery blockage. I'm on a low cholesterol low fat diet now. Exercise is just as important so my focus is to increase intensity and duration. Consistency in all things is my biggest challenge.

I'm trying to add new types of exercise in hopes to create some community and accountability. It's so easy to talk myself out of things on my own. So here we go some progress is being made and a lot of it is is due to just logging in to Sparkpeople every day.

My Goals:
Goal is to get to my healthy weight and stay there, eat right and exercise regularly. Sounds simple and easy enough so I wonder why it's so hard to get there and stay there.


My Program:
Eating healthy fresh plant based foods, tracking calories and portion control along with regular exercise - walking strength and yoga exercises.



Personal Information:
Grew up as a military brat and lived in several states and overseas growing up, moving every 3 years or so. Maybe that's why I'm finally so settled, in the Austin area of Texas for the past 30 plus years.


Other Information:
Love to read, go for walks and hikes, garden and go camping. Also traveling as much as the budget will allow.
