The name JimLita is a combination of my husband's name and my birth name, I was adopted, and my name was changed from Carmelita to Carmen. Since my husband's name is Jim, I carried over the Lita. I couldn't get my old name back. Which was Carmylita, you are welcome to call me Carmy.

I am 61 years old. Happily Married nearly 32 years.

I have Cerebral Palsy. I also am a pre Diabetic.

I am a grandma. We had 8 grand kids, one died in a car accident three years ago, she was 8 years old. I am out to make everyone aware that alcohol, drugs and even legal prescription drugs do NOT mix with driving! Please don't do it. It could have saved my granddaughter's life if some one would have just said NO!

I enjoy cats, art, out doors, fish ponds, bead work and Face Book.

If anyone wants to know if my tattoo is real, yes it is and I designed it myself got it when I was 56 years old!

My background image is my own art work a water color I painted.

My Goals:
My main goal is to lose weight or maintain my weight. Eat healthy, exercise every day.

My Program:
Stick to a 1500 calorie a day diet.

Get around 1/4 to a 1/2 mile a day, light jogging. Maybe more if I can. I'm now working toward a mile a day.

Seek support and encouragement.

This is a complete life style change which I started two years ago. after being told by my Dr. to lose weight, or have a heat attack. I took her serious.

I am down 45 pounds since then, but only in the last eight months have I tracked what I do.

Personal Information:
I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I learned to walk at age four. I eventually learned to ride a bike, then acquired my driver's license and my motorcycle endorsement.

As I have aged I have lost abilities. I no longer ride a bike, hike and now need a rollator to walk. This is extremely discouraging. I now use the walker full time. But with my walker, I am able to do all the exercise I get done, and in 8 months I have logged 111 miles! That is exciting for a person with Cerebral Palsy!

So, my walking a half of mile is the equivalent of a normal person walking a mile and a half.

I was told I was borderline Diabetic almost two years ago. I have dropped my cholesterol to normal and my a1c number to normal, all by exercise and diet. No pills here. I have dropped my blood pressure. I am proud of my accomplishments as I have many other health issues due to the Cerebral Palsy.

I no longer eat any junk food, fast food, bagged food, boxed food or prepared food.

    Yes, I'm still here! LOL!
Not doing a whole lot because life just happens to get in the way of my SP...
I still use my MisFit every day. It's almost 3 years old now, and still kicking and a ticking! Will buy another one when this one dies... It has been a good tracker.
I'm still following my Spark plan, but not posting so much. had lots of life-changes going on.
    I hope you are well!

emoticon So nice to hear from you! yes, I am still here, but life changes have interrupted my check-ins on SP. My MisFit is still working!
I'm working six days a week right now to transition from having my own business to working for someone else. I just got tired of all the paperwork and hassle being self-employed entailed... So after 35 years, I'm going to be an employee for awhile, then retire. But there is work to be done to make it all go smoothly.
Through it all, my weight has remained stable! Thanks for SP!
I log in every day, if possible, and sort of do the basics. Things are starting to fall into place, so I may be able to blog and participate more soon.
I'm glad to see you are still around, too! We do what we have to do! And it IS enough!

So glad to hear from you!!!
My DH has been sick since Thanksgiving, and was in hospital from New Year's day until last Saturday. So I've been a bit MIA on SP. I'm still Sparkin' away! Following my eating plan well, and have not gained any at all over the holidays. Actually lost inches, I think. Mainly feel as if I am on a merry go round, but through prayer and perseverance, I'm doing fine.
