I am a married mom of two boys who has survived leukemia. I have been married for 24 years to a wonderful supportive man and have been very fortunate to see my oldest son graduate from high school and go to college and my youngest son enter high school. I live my life as if it could be my last. I have always been very healthy. I had normal levels for blood pressure, serum cholesterol, serum glucose. I have had healthy vital organs. Despite this, I developed leukemia. You never know when life will throw you a eevastating curve ball. The major lesson I learned from having cancer is make the most of neverwant to have any regrets.

My Goals:
Long term goal: I want to lose the excess abdominal fat which has caused me discomfort. I am also trying to prepare myself for additional abdominal surgery to repair the mesh that has torn loose.
Short term goal: I want to lose weight prior to reuniting with my Army girlfriends in September. Although it would never make any difference how I look to them, I sure want to look good in all those pictures we will be taking!

My Program:
1. I am keeping track of all the food that is going into my mouth.
2. I am increasing the fruits and vegetables in my diet...striving for 3 fruits and 3 vegetables a day.
3. I am drinking 12 glasses of fluids a day....using only reusable containers.
4. I am striving to exercise at least 30 minutes a day.

Personal Information:
My name is Ann and I live in Greenbrae, CA.
-I have survived having acute myeloid leukemia, five grueling stays totaling over 180 days in the hospital, five mega-rounds of chemotherapy, and two stem cell transplants.
-I am an avid gardener both flowers and vegetables ... although they are all in containers.
-I am a staunch "greener". I am always trying to reduce my carbon footprint and educating others to do so also.
-I am a mega volunteer for high school athletics, the hospital unit I spent so much time on, for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, for breast cancer organizations, and anything else I can find interesting.
