My daughter is now 18 months and I am finally feeling like the rat race is slowing down. I am a single parent and I have focused so much on the financial well-being of my daughter, that I have lost focus on my goals. I have been exhausted and depressed and I know it is because my energy level is poor from horrible eating habits. I have recently decided that I worked too hard to give up now. Before I had my daughter I successfully lost weight on Weight Watchers and I am now exactly where I started at 216 lbs. I feel encouraged today and I would like to start over. I know I can do it, I have done it before! All I needed to find is the motivation, my daughter is that motivation. I want to live for her. My mother died from heart faliure at the age of 41 and now I am following in her footsteps by living a very unhealthy lifestyle. Well, that is all over now! I am back and I am going to stay healthy forever!

Hello Everyone,
I have been out of the loop for a while. I have recently embarked on the journey of motherhood. I had my little one on March 29, 2010. I got pregnant right after I lost weight on WW...go figure! I am now back on the journey. Luckily my pre-pregnancy weight returned after the baby and I am slowly creeping back up so it is time to find that old motivation. I am back on Spark People to see if I can gain that confidence I once had about loosing weight. I will keep you all posted and I plan on joining WW next month but until then I will start back doing my walking DVD's and attempting to eat healthy. Wish me Luck and keep in touch!

Well My daughter is 1 now and guess who is still fat? Me :( I can not say its because I have been trying, because I have not. I can not find the motivation to loose weight again...All I can think of is the energy, time, money, and effort it took to loose weight last time. I work full-time, full-time parent, part-time student...and I can barely get a nap. I have began emotional eating again and it is showing. I am now bigger than I have ever been now at 217.8. I started Zumba and got a gym membership a month ago and I have only been 3 times....where is my motivation? My motivation should be staying healthy and living for my child...but as a single parent, I am simply exhausted by the thought of attempting to loose weight again! So here I am ...back to my old buddy Spark for a final relay for life!!!! Help me Spark friends....Please!!!!!

Old Intro (Before the Baby)

So, I am here...I have recently lost 21 lbs through Weight Watchers and I am very proud of that! Although, I have a long way to go, I have learned to cherish the small accomplishments of weight loss. Recently I have decided to cancel my WW membership due to financial stressors and I plan to stay OP until I can re-join. I must admit, my morale has gone down since I had to make my cancelation call to WW and I have begun to overeat. I heard about this site and said, "What the heck...it wont hurt," so here I am! I have found out that all I need is support to maintain a healthy weight..I hope I can find it here.

The Chubby Girl
I have always been the "chubby" friend, daughter, and girlfriend. My Best friend would say things like..."Everyone asks me why I have bigger* friends..I just tell them It doesnt matter to me." She actually tried to make me feel better...can you believ that? Wow!!! I wouldn't say anything, I would just laugh it off and play my role as the "chubby" friend. When I was young my nickname was "thick" so naturally I thought it was ok to be a little husky. I was told that I had to eat all of my food on my plate, and can you believe I still have problems with eating every drop on my plate? I would go to the club and guys would say to my "skinny" friend, you are cute and your friend has a cute face..as you could imagine I developed a very distorted self image after years of never being hit on in undergrad. Later after saying " I will never be 200 lbs," I hit 212 lbs and was placed on meds for pre-hypertension, I was devistated! Since my mom died only 9 years ago from heart disease, this was a direct blow to my denial.

On March 2009, I decided that I would not be the chubby friend, girlfriend, or daughter. I have made a great effort to becoming fit. I have lost 21 lbs and I have added in an exercise plan that consists of cardio 3x a week. I am starting on my journey to a new healthier and fit me!!!

Welcome to the Scale Back Alabama team. Our team is very small and seems to be most active during weekdays. We have lost quite a few members as they have apparently met their weight loss goals and are no longer active on the site. I am glad to have you join the team.
