I realized that I haven't updated my introduction or profile on my page for 3 years. So much has changed, but much is still the same. I'm still here, I'm still trying. I've lost and gained enough weight for any 3 people - but I'm still plugging along and still have hope that one day I will be fit again. I started here many years ago with the goal to lose 70ish pounds. I've been up and down the scale since, but right now the general trend is downward and I'm pleased by that. Recently I've realized that there are more important things than seeing the scale move down. What I really want is to be fit and strong and healthy. I'd like to lose inches, and pounds, but living a healthier lifestyle is a goal in itself. All we ever really have is today, and today I'm feeling good about seeing progress.

I don't do well with introductions, and I'm even worse about pictures. Come get to know me, and I'll be better.

Weights are so misleading when we don't have heights or history attached. One person said their goal weight was pretty near my starting weight, and another whose starting weight is pretty near my goal weight. So here are my (not so) vital stats.
Height 5'9" 256 (Jan 2015)
Lowest weight - 8lbs 2oz (teehee)
Goal weight - 148lbs which is exactly the center of "normal" BMI range for my height
Fantasy weight - 130lbs this was my weight from the day I entered 7th grade clear until my very last semester of college. Not realistic to get back there, but that's why I call it my fantasy weight

Fitness Minutes: 32,491

My Goals:
Exercise 5 days a week. It could be 10 minutes with the lawnmower or 2 hours in the pool. Doesn't matter right now, just 5 days a week.

There is a 5K color run April 30 that I would really like to participate in - I'm not a runner, at all, so I'll have to work hard to make it.

Track every bite, every time - BEFORE I eat it.

Mini goals:
I hit the first several mini-goals already. This is what's left.

210 - that will be lowest I've been in a very long time and proof that my months long stall is over.

201 lbs - overweight from obese

190 lbs - just because

180 lbs - driver's license weight and my personal nemesis

178 - because I haven't been below 180 in a very long time.

168 - healthy BMI

148 - eventual goal weight.

My Program:
Move more, eat less pretty much sums it up.

Keep going to zumba as often as possible and go to the fitness center at least 3 days a week.

I love books, movies and tv. I'll have to work on finding some less sedentary hobbies. Lead me to a good book, or even better a series, and I'll be in your debt forever.

    I just sent my first order to Chewy. Son use them and has told me for month I should, so I finally bit the bullet and done it. I am really, really, protective with who has our credit card #'s.

    I also think that the men making the film - and even discussing the book - completely got Shelly's point inside out. I think she was saying that the doctor is the real monster for creating a person and then throwing him into the world to suffer with no support or guidance. I think it's interesting that at the time, the all-male literary review world thought the book was amazing - and therefore she couldn't possibly have written it. emoticon

    I'm not familiar with Jim Butcher. How are you enjoying the book? I've been bouncing between a few books lately. I am reading a book on economics by Dani Rodrik, a book about contemporary politics, and am just beginning Tarzan. I haven't read the classics in decades and thought 2020 was a great time to do that. emoticon
