Updated 1/17/13- Well, I managed to lose a little weight since I started. I had a LONG, frustrating plateau that I did eventually break through. I am going to try to keep plugging along and hopefully be at goal by the end of 2013. In August '13 I will turn 35 and how awesome it would be to start my 36th year off in onderland!!! That is my new goal for now 199 or below by 8/7/13. Also, I really want to work toward my goal of running this year. There are a few 5k events in my area and I would like to be able to attend some this year. So 2 goals for now-short and sweet, oh how sweet it would be. Let's GO

I'm 33 years old and have been severely overweight for about 11 years now. This September (2012) is my husband and my 10 year anniversary. We are planning on going on a cruise and although I know 5 months is not nearly enough time to reach my ultimate weight loss goal of 100 pounds(more, I've already lost 20), I would like to get a good start on it. i have 3 beautiful children and want to be able to run and play with them and set a good example for them and show them that you can achieve your goals if you put in the work. My oldest is almost 9 and I have already spent his entire life being obese and not running and playing with my kids the way I want. Also, secretly, want to run a 5K or maybe further. This is a very strange desire for me. I have never really been a runner, especially for distance. I did a lot of running when I played soccer but that is a completely different type of running.

    Thank you so much! I changed up my ticker to count down til the end of the year. My goal is to lose 10 pounds by then, although that's been thrown off a bit. I went to Vegas and got all the way up to 197. Was 193 when I came home and this morning I was down to 188. I'm super excited about that, and my goal for the 10 pounds was to be 179 by the end of the year. I did start a low carb type plan and I know most of what has come off is water weight but it was perfect timing as it helped me lose my Vegas bloat. :) I am ready to finally bust through the 180's and stop going back into the 190's. :)

    Maintaining a 60 pound loss is no small feat and that is so great that you are staying on top of that and maintaining! I know sometimes it doesn't feel as good as losing but it is great practice for later on! :D

    Thank you so much for your kind words! I have missed you lots!! I see from your status that you are super busy with work and school plus your awesome family. That is so great that you went back to school!! :D I recently decided to stop dilly dallying and taking this more seriously like I did when I first started, and the weight has really started coming off. I am looking to try to be about 170 by the end of this year. I can't control if the scale will cooperate or not but I'm sure gonna try. :) I am gonna go for 160 because I really want a tummy tuck, but not sure if the tummy tuck will come before or after getting to 160. Wish me luck lol.;)
