I am a runner working toward a marathon. I am trying to lose weight to make running easier on my body and to help me shorten my PR. I lost about 40 pounds over the past 3 years on another site. When I started running again this year, I was not eating enough to fuel my runs. Instead of trying to figure out what I needed to be eating, I would eat EVERYTHING! I have gained back almost 10 of the 40 pounds. I knew that I had to make a change and make it fast. I read The Spark and now here I am. I am really looking forward to this journey and meeting new friends along the way!!!!

Fitness Minutes: 6,680

My Goals:
My goal is to run the Disney Marathon in 2011. I would like to make my goal weight before then to make the run easier and possibly make me faster! I realized that if I manage health, I can manage the other areas of my life. Whenever my eating is out of control, so is everything else in my life.


My Program:
I am running 6-10 miles 5 to 6 days per week as well as swimming laps 30 minutes 2 days per week. Now I have added 3 days of 10-20 minutes of strength training into my routine and I am really trying to manage my chocolate addiction.



Personal Information:
I am originally from southern California. Left home in 1991, moved around the world while serving the in the USAF and landed in Florida. I love it here and this is the place that I call home.


Other Information:
I have an amazing husband, two very active sons, and a couple of lazy dogs. We live on the gulf coast where the beautiful white sands warm my heart even on a rainy day.

    Hi! I just came across your page and found it motivational. I've been running for a little over a year now and am just starting to do races... I've got 3 5Ks coming up and am trying to work up the nerve to do longer ones. I saw that you're working towards the Disney Marathon... I have a cousin who runs that every year and has a blast. Good luck with your training!

    XRAYGIRLY- Thanks for the reply. I have been a runner for many years on and off. It is my favorite!
    I am an RT, but haven't done x-ray for about 4 years. I am also a RVT and work for a vascular surgeon doing ultrasound. Love it!! I think that it's awesome that you get to work with kids. They are wonderful little bundles of inspiration, aren't they? Most of our clients are elderly which is often hard for me because I get so attached & we have lost a lot of patients over the 3+ years that I have worked there. Keep up the great work! Is it really hot where you are at? We're in N. Florida and it's already close to 100 degrees with a 300000 % humidity! Going to take my kids to the pool today.
