Hi all. I'm a 42-year-old Minnesota mom who decided to start 2007 with a healthier lifestyle. I have been sober since October 24, 2004 and would like to continue improving myself.

I believe in using any tool I can find to improve myself. SparkPeople has enabled me to develop a support system of phenomenal people who share my desire to be the best I can be.

I have now met and surpassed my original goal weight of 130. But, I realized that my real goal was met when healthier lifestyle choices seemed to be coming naturally. I am now regularly choosing healthier food options and adding physical activity to my life. I feel better mentally and physically. I even quit smoking. I know that these changes are much more profound than a simple number on a scale.

Dramatic lifestyle changes require the assistance of a strong support system. I can't do it alone. The strength and encouragement that comes from this community is nothing short of amazing. I must continue to surround myself with strong support in order to maintain my "new" lifestyle. To that end, I will continue to be here for you - and I know that you are always here for me.

- Make healthier food choices (fruits, veggies, lower fat)
- Eat several small meals each day instead of 3 large ones
- Get at least 150 minutes of cardio exercise each week.
- Apply the 12-steps of recovery to my weight loss efforts

Please Note: My trackers are shared, but I'm not always great about tracking everything because I only have internet access at work. Don't worry - I eat at least 1300 calories everyday - even if my tracker only reports what I eat while at work.
