Getting on Track


I love all living things: people, animals, and plants. I am an amateur herbalist, and love to cook with and use herbs for all sorts of things.

My weight gain has happened gradually, and I'm not starving myself to take it off. Exercise is key with me. As the grandmother of seven, I find that weight no longer bounces off like it once did. I actually wonder if I really should be the soft pillow my own grandmother was that made her hugs wonderful! Then I think about the health ...

I'm now a Master Gardener, and live on a wooded two acre property, with loads of places for improvement. Trying to get better at planning: my meals, my garden, and my time.

Personal Information:
Born during WWII in a "Maternal Nursing Home" (an adjunct to the local hospital) in North Platte Nebraska, lived in several big cities ever since: San Diego, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. Moved from Dallas to Missouri in summer of 2014. Love growing herbs, singing, quilting, and crazy quilting. Grandmother of seven. Trying to increase my dependence on God, and to quit thinking I have all the answers.

Other Information:
 I'm an avid reader. I read every day, and am currently also reading the Bible every morning, with a schedule to finish it in one year. This is the sixth or seventh time I've read on this schedule, and learn new things every time. It helps center me for the day's activities.

    I snagged that tiny pic from a friend's FB page and we can't figure out why it's so little! It's bigger on my computer!!! I've been a Sweet Adeline for three years now and I absolutely love it! Our chorus won Most Improved in Region 25 this past Spring! I'm so proud of us. We worked our hiney's off!!

    I make herbal salves, teas, massage oils, lip balms, bath teas, potpourri, and hope to begin making goat's milk soap again once I can secure a source of fresh milk. I considered membership in an herb club but chose not to pursue our local organization...my personality didn't mesh with the majority of the membership.

    I understand exactly what you mean about exercising being the key for you. It most definitely is the key to my transformation. That's really what happened for me. With God's help, I transformed my lifestyle and thus transformed my body.

    Thanks for visiting my page. Yes, Panda is a border collie adopted from the pound so he might not be a purebread. She does have the characteristics of leading the pack around. She is such a sweet dog. My 10 month old grandson was climbing all over her this weekend and she just licked him. I love your quilt!
