I love all living things: people, animals, and plants. I am an amateur herbalist, and love to cook with and use herbs for all sorts of things.

My weight gain has happened gradually, and I'm not starving myself to take it off. Exercise is key with me. As the grandmother of seven, I find that weight no longer bounces off like it once did. I actually wonder if I really should be the soft pillow my own grandmother was that made her hugs wonderful! Then I think about the health challenges that presents, and I get "real."

I'm now a Master Gardener, and live on a wooded two acre property, with loads of places for improvement. Trying to get better at planning: my meals, my garden, and my time.

Eating less desserts and more real food; eliminating processed foods.

Personal Information:
Born during WWII in a "Maternal Nursing Home" (an adjunct to the local hospital) in North Platte Nebraska, lived in several big cities ever since: San Diego, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. Moved from Dallas to Missouri in summer of 2014. Love growing herbs, singing, quilting, and crazy quilting. Grandmother of seven. Trying to increase my dependence on God, and to quit thinking I have all the answers.

Other Information:
I'm an avid reader. I read every day, and am currently also reading the Bible every morning, with a schedule to finish it in one year. This is the sixth or seventh time I've read on this schedule, and learn new things every time. It helps center me for the day's activities.

    Hi, Thanks for adding me as a friend (I just added you too.), and for the nice welcome you extended me. Sleep has been an issue for me for a long time. I 'll put more detail in my intro, soon as I go back to the group. I think the journaling is a good idea, too.

    I certainly agree about cats. How can anyone resist them? Especially looking into the face of a sweet kitten. I've had Ozzie and Harriet for about 4 months now and love them to pieces, though I will be glad when Ozzie calms down a bit. He moves from one piece of trouble to another, just as fast as he can! Ya gotta love him!

    Best of luck to you, too, with establishing better sleep habits.
