Dear Friends of the Community, I am a Musician (Piano and Guitar) and I teach music to kids (mostly) for a living. After losing my Father to a heart attack in 2006, I had steadily gained weight as well as got really depressed due to this and to the aftermath of his death on another family member who impacted my life in a terribly negative way. When I learned about Spark People, from downloading it as a free "app" for my iphone, I decided to take myself in hand, and try disciplining myself for the first week by logging in all my calories. I'm on my second week now and it's a little challenging, but I'm glad there is a seemingly supportive community out there. I'm hoping this discipline will carry through to my own personal music practice as well.

My Goals:
I plan to be 135 lbs and physically fit by April 2010.
I plan to finish reading and doing the exercises in "Producing Music with Digital Performer" on my computer and music keyboard by the end of April and I plan to help my Mom find an Art Gallery whose dealer will love and sell her paintings.

My Program:
I'm food journaling every day, and I'm working out at every day at least 10 minutes. Part of this program is Water Aerobics 2 or 3 times per week. I've set myself the goal of working on my DP computer music program at least 3 hours a week.
I've helped Steven to finish working on Mom's website and tomorrow I'll begin helping her to draft a cover letter to email to various art galleries.

Personal Information:
I'm from New Haven County Connecticut and if you want to email me, I'm

Other Information:
My favorite movies are"Les Enfants du Paradis" and "Belle et la Bete" but I also love other old movies and some new ones. I really dug "It's Complicated" and "Avatar".
A quote from Daisaku Ikeda's Daily Guidance, for January 29th: " Practicing Buddhism means being victorious. In advancing one step at a time amid the realities of our daily lives,m in showing concrete actual proof, in becoming victors and successes, we are demonstrating with our very beings the validity of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism and serving as a source of hope and inspiration for those who will follow us on the path of faith".

Hi LambieRabbit! Hank has been such a perfect cat--a lot of personality and surprisingly affectionate (though not always emoticon ). He contracted feline herpes from his mama (the entire litter did too) and his eye never healed from the infection. He was a year old when we adopted him, so we missed all of that. He's a mixed-breed cat, but he has the softest, shiny fur! Both of his litter-mates are tuxedos too.
My name was chosen in 2006 (I've restarted sparkpeople a couple times!)--at that time I was still a "Ms." and was about halfway through my history degree. I still love history, although I've since become a "Mrs."

THANKS!! This is something I will share with my DH. He mowed the lawn this evening and we have trails all over so we know it is the voles/moles working again. We have a nice yard but not so nice right now. We will have to find the primary entrance or exit as they do both. It's hard to keep up with them dens. They move around a lot.

I didn't mean to correct your spelling. I just know that it is gopher as I live in the Gopher state where the it's the home of the MN. Gophers (football team).

Have a fantastic weekend and I hope the heat isn't too bad for you. It seems the majority of the country is involved with it.
