Hello every. I am Daniel. I am proud to say I am smoke free since June 03, 2009. I currently live in Iowa. I started at 270 pounds and 45% Body Fat in May 2007. I am now down to 254 and losing. My 3+ years journey has been a YO-YO adventure of lose and gain then lose and gain, over and over. I just can't seem to get below 230 before I start gaining again.My new goal is to reach 200 by March 2011 and 150 by years end. I want to lose this extra person attached to me so I can look and feel a lot better and happier. Thanks to Spark People and the support I have recieved from my wonderful team mates here. I am doing it. Good Luck to all of you.

Update 4/26/2011: Just found out I have a thyroid disorder which is preventing me from losing weight properly.

My Goals:
January 5 2011. A new beginning. My long and short term goals:
1) Lose weight safely and permanantly
2) Live a healthier life to the best of my ability
3)join a gym.
4) Remove the buildup in my arteries
5) Get my HDL and LDL in good ranges by june 2010.
6) to be atleast 224 lb. by Dec 2011
7)reduce my metformin dosage by end of 2011.

My Program:
My eating plan will consist of fresh prepared, healthy foods. If I eat out I will not eat fast foods. I will instead look for reaturants that prepare their own fresh foods. I will eat less frozen prepared foods. I will drink more water and juices. I will slowly eliminate sodas for the most part. I will exercise and lounge less.

Personal Information:
I am a 45 year old male. I am 104# over weight. I am a very nice and caring person but have a low self esteem( I think it is weight related).I am very quiet and don't talk much when around others (even my own family).
