Lisa, I am one of the leaders on Girls of God. I wanted to welcome you to the team. I was where you are, starting and stopping, having to relose the weight that I had lost, and oftentimes even more. About 11 years ago I joined SP deciding that it was the last time I was stopping and starting. It's been an interesting journey. I've found out some of the reasons I struggle to lose weight - and despite that struggle I never quit and even though it's taken a long time, I've lost 54 total pounds (271-217). I've gone up and down in that time because my body doesn't want me to lose the weight (some people are like that). I also have two diseases that keep weight on my body (lymphedema and lipodema). I never quit though. I have learned a lot about eating healthy recently and that has helped to keep me from gaining again and also losing some. You have to learn your body and what it is going to take for you to lose weight. Not everyone is the same and no "diet" will work on everyone. Eat healthy, clean, whole foods (the outside edges of the grocery store). Chose one or two habits to change every couple of weeks, making new healthy habits instead. Don't try to change everything all at once, it will just overwhelm you. Just because it's on your plate doesn't mean you have to eat it - stop eating when you are satisfied (not full). Move whenever you get the opportunity. I do squats while brushing my teeth, or walk around the kitchen while waiting for the microwave. Take a walk while you are talking on the phone. Every step counts. I hope this helps a little bit. I am here if you need me. Kim
