hi,my name is Lula i am 46,i am here to lose weight and get healthy,i hope i can do it this time,i tried several times in the past to lose weight,always end up failing,it's so hard to do when you have other people to cook for,and they love the fatty foods,but seems like i'm the only one who gains weight from them,but i hope i will be able to do it this time.before i did not have all the tools that i needed,but thanks to spark,i have everything i need right here at my fingertips,all the motivation i could ever ask for,awesome people here on spark that never put you down because you slipped,just lots of encouragement,motivation,and caring,thanks everyone here on sparkpeople,and to my family&God ,you are all i need to do this,HUGS TO EVERYONE
update:i made it to my goal weight,maintaining is hard work,but i am getting better at it,not going back,i am moving forward,thinks sparkfriends for all your help and motivation,hugs
UPDATED FEB-7-2010 -Well I regained 30 pounds back,why ?Because i quit tracking my food ,and working out.Well hopefully I learned my lesson,I have to remember that if i want to be healthy i have to exercise and watch what i eat.and that once i quit doing that the pounds come back so fast.

It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.

It's learning the skills to get back in your range.

It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.

You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."

It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.

You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.

To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,

if you summon the will to get back in the race.

But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,

Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.

And learn too late when the damage is done,

that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.

Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,

but facing each challenge will help you grow.

A Dieters Poem.... Dont quit!


The Dieters Lament

Dear Lord help me to attain
the weight that I have often sought.
Help me to win the battle of
the bulge that I have often fought.

Lead me on the righteous path
to eating healthy meals.
My goal is to cut the fat;
to know the joy a thin girl feels.

Seal my lips when I am tempted
to stuff my mouth with sweets galore,
including the luscious hot fudge sundaes,
topped with whipped cream I adore.

Guide me on the path to health,
by acquiring a taste for low fat food.
Teach me patience and perseverance.
Uplift my spirits so that I dont brood

Eliminate my fear of failure
which zaps my diet from the start.
Give me the courage to look away
from a slice of pie or an apple tart.

Help me to attain my goal,
A slender woman in stylish clothes.
With a little help I will succeed
and drop those pounds until it shows.

To show my thanks I will pledge
to help other women to succeed,
by passing on this little prayer
for other dieters to read.

update:well I am back again with more weight to lose,can't believe I gained almost 50 pounds back,well you live and learn,I have no one to blame but myself,I tried to come on here before but was so ashamed of myself for gaining almost half my weight back,so I tried doing it on my own,well that did not work so i am here today owning up to my mistakes and get past this shame i feel,and realize i can't do it by myself i need my sparkfriends and spark to do this.Hope i did not let anyone down

    It’s cold outside, but Spring is coming! Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of March. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges.
