Conrats on your success..your family history can be changed and it sounds like you are on the right path. You have come to the right place for support and encouragement..we are beside you..step by step to better health. We also have rescued many animals....we have a Hobby farm of 80 acres and have taken in a horse, geese, many cats (we have them all N&S), geese, a pot bellied pig named Grunt..they reside with our 2 horses, 2 mini donkeys, llama (lost his mate last yr.), a goat and many free roam chickens ( we do not eat them so 15 have grown to 85!) We lovingly feed, pet and care for them each day. My daughter and her fiancee of 6 yrs. lives in the house..we live 12 miles away. We planted all 80 acres into food plots for the deer and pheasants who need a good meal...and we leave all crops standing for them in the winter. My DH loves to putter around out there. I am glad to share the world with a nice lady like you..many animals have a hard life so thanks for taking care of the ones you can. Remember to pat yourself on the back and take care of YOU...wishing you good health and good luck. janine 5110 days ago

Marie, sounds like you and I have a lot of things in common. I'm 57, a bit older, and divorced (since 1983), but I also worked Civil Service (retired this past June, with 31.5 yrs.)
My daughter and I rescued a kitten in 1986 from the bowling alley parking lot at Lackland AFB, TX--before I knew about my serious allergy--and our darling Sugar lived until 1998. Right now, I have no pets at all, but do have my only daughter and her two kids living with me.
I've lost 150 pounds, most of it in 1989--and still want to take off about 30 more.

Hi Marie, I saw your profile photo on one of the 50+ forums and couldn't resist seeing more of the pictures in your Sparkpage photo album. The cats are adorable! Did you take them yourself? Would love to see more pics of your furry "family".
