I am 44 this year in June and I've been struggling with my weight since I was 20ish. Use to party hard, eat hard and play hard and now I'm at my heaviest 205 and have been trying to get it off for the past 5yrs. Unfortunately whatever I lose I've gained it all back again thanks to my laziness. Got engaged over the xmas holiday in 2005 to a wonderful man I met while I was learning to scuba dive, both of which I never thought I'd ever do.
Honey bunny and I started Bernsteins in January 2007 and I lost 38lbs, but again gained back over summer when I started eating again.
I am today, glad to be here, and trying to make a better me for life.
To fix my midlife crisis I bought a horse..of course. I've dreamed of one since I was 6 and it took me until 40 but I finally got one.
Nobody did this but me, and I give credit where credit is due - don't need a figment of my imagination to "guide me" through it.

Hey girl! Thank you for the kind comment on my page. I am (obviously) new here but hope to find good fellowship with others who are health-conscious such as you!

On exercise: I do so in spurts. I'll workout (weights, walking, etc) for a few weeks, something will throw me off like schedule change, going out of town, injury, illness, etc. and it takes me a long time to get back in the groove.

I WISH I were more disciplined. Sometimes, I'll just do leg lifts, crunches, and push-ups if nothing else...and stretch.

I drink Herbalife's tea every day & have for the past 13 years. It is NOT FOR weight loss by itself, but it increases metabolism, gives natural energy, and helps me a lot with my ADHD.

I also try to make myself drink a lot of water. I can tell when I don't --- I feel sluggish & am bloated by the end of the day. That's good bec. it gauges my water intake for me!

    Stay in touch!!
Have a blessed, and LONG, weekend!

    Hi, Maggie.

I came here to thank you for posting that 'Spicy Scallops' recipe. It is now one of my favorite recipes of all time!

Of course, since I stopped in, I took the time to read about you and your life. I was so sorry to learn about your first fiance', hon. And I can certainly understand the tailspin you went into for those 3 years afterwards.

What a wonderful turnaround you've experienced . . . with such a beautiful future unfolding that it has your eyes just sparkling! Best wishes to you on your journey (your sense of humor in intact, I see--in your stated goals-LOL!) with the weight loss and with your marriage to your 'honey bunny'!

    Hugs,
    Dale

P.S. My 'Herckle' is 13 and going strong, too!

    Hello. WELCOME TO SPARKPEOPLE!!

I was just browsing the site, and came across your page.
I wanted to take this oportunity to invite you to our team. It is called "OVERCOMING OBSTACLES".
It is a forum that my wife (ticklemepink-aka Carol) formed. At first, it was for people with a disabitliy,
but now it's expanded to everyone..disability or no disability. As a matter of fact, more then 1/2
of the group do not have a disability.

The link is located on my sparkpage, and the main discussion room is still named "disabiltiies group".
I was noticing some successes here on your page, and that is what the forum is all about.
People post their successes in life, their personal stories, motivation to succeed, advice, and there's even a thread for jokes.

I was hoping that you will click the link, join the group, and come to post in the main room, & maybe share some of your own successes, etc..for us to all get aquainted, better. As you read some of the posts in there, you will see some amazing accomplishments, before and after joining sparkpeople. Spark coach Jen is a member of our team, also, and is willing to help everyone.

We hope to welcome you! (Please feel freeee to invite your friends in with you..I know they'll be almost as delighted as we are to welcome you to the" place where people congregate"!! )
I hope you will click the tab that says "sparkmail" if you need any questions answerred, and either sparkmail myself, or Carol. We are willing to help.
