I'm 76 years young.. Living in a retirement community cottage. We also have apartments and a nursing home. There is a meal plan here, but after being on this for a year, both my husband and I gained weight, so I cook at home (which I enjoy) We've been married for 53 years and have 2 children and 1 granddaughter. I was diagonized with Type 2 about 7 years ago. This runs in both sides of my family. My Dr. says that it is well controlled, just need to exercise more and loose weight I did have it under control however in the last 3 months my A1C jump to 9%

My Goals:
Is to loose weight. Since I joined Spark I've lost about 20 lbs. It is hard to tell since my DR's scale is bout 5 lbs higher then my scale,I also would like to lower my A1C # from 7.2. My Dr. is starting to get concerned

My Program:
I have elminated most desserts . I only use Splenda as my sugar free sugar. . I need to watch my carbs, and to count them. I did in the very beginning, I drink water flavored with lemon juice.( about 2 mugs (32 oz.each) If I have a snack it is fresh raw veggies or berries all unsweetened. My Dr. doesn't recommend sugar subs thease increse your appitite

Personal Information:
When I first joined Spark People I had lost about 20 lbs down to 220 and can't get it any lower. I don't do much in the way of exercises. I tried to walk with my husband but he walks to fast for me and gets upset when I need to stop and rest. Now that the weather is getting warmer maybe I walk on my own. I also have heart problem. which doesn't help

Other Information:
I haven't been on Sparkpeople in a couple oyears It is time to get myself back on track Sp I 'm bsck. Need to get my weight sown and A1C down. (7/2019)
