Hello y'all. I'm in my 30's and overweight. My mom is morbidly obese with diabetes and a slew of other weight related health concerns and I am determined not to follow in her footsteps. I am losing weight because I want to be healthy and a capable, functioning person when I reach my 60's. I do not want to be bedridden and unable to pursue the things that make me happy.

This is not a diet. This is creating new neuro-pathways and building good eating and exercise habits. This is changing the dynamic of my life. This is absolutely not a diet.

My Goals:
By January of 2016, I want to reach 125lbs - a weight that will put me in the middle of "normal" BMI.

I want to wear yoga pants.

I want to dismiss this depression I've be trapped under and be the person I know I want to be.

My Program:
To stay within caloric recommendations, eating conscientiously, but not obsessing to the point I can no longer maintain my high expectations.

Exercise with some form of cardio 6 days a week - building up to 30 minute segments - and yoga. My goal is to do yoga 4 times a week and become flexible again.

Personal Information:
I love video games. :D I'm a former ballet dancer and I currently teach some of the most remarkable kids ballet and tap. I absolutely adore my job.

Other Information:
I'm a huge nerd and love sci-fi and fantasy, both movies, books, and tv shows. I also enjoy to occasional anime and play lots of videogames. I love coffee and wouldn't be able to function without it.

    Was just reading your blog. Sounds like you have a plan. Good to start now while you are young. It doesn't get any easier. Sparkpeople is the place to be. Lots of help and encouragement here.
