I'm a71 year old in maintenence .Married & live in Victoria, TX with hubby & four cats, which are our "kids". We have two Siamese, & two Ragdolls. I had been fighting the weight loss battle since I turned 40...many years ago. I have lost it & gained it back so many times. It seemed that lose weight was my "forever" New's Years resolution! But, no more. I am happy to be here . Following Dr. fuhrman's Eat To Live plan & now I am much healthier & happier!

Just thought it was time to add an update...it has taken me over a year to get to this point, but I am now within 5 pounds of my goal & I know that I will reach it this year. It has been an uphill battle all the way, but so worth it. I would never have gotten this far without "Spark People". I have met some great people on here who have supported me & cheered me on this journey!

Probably the last update for me. Can't believe it has been this many years. I have been "below" goal weight all year & thanks to the good habits & the great diet I follow, I never plan to be overweight again! I still come to Spark People daily. I guess it is a good habit that I don't want to end. Never give up your dreams!

Update: 8/11/15
Never say never...I am now 74 & my health has gone downhill. I have managed to gain most of what I lost back & having no luck getting it to budge. I am not giving up, but quite sad & frustrated at this point & really not knowing what to try next that might be successful. I really must update my "young" pic & put one of the "olidie" I am now..

    You asked if I was ever overweight ... Yes! I was obese. I have lost 85+ lbs ... emoticon

    I was thin, like I am now, prior to the weight gain experienced during my 30s, 40s and early 50s. I began walking at 53 when the stress in my life became unbearable. I knew walking would reduce my stress. Weight loss was not my incentive to move. The desire to reduce stress is what got me moving. The weight loss has been a side effect.
