After battling my weight most of my life (highest weight around 200 pounds) I'd like to say I've finally under control but it's still a journey.

During my 30's, through portion control and exercise, I lost a significant amount of weight but I would get close to goal, get comfortable and yo-yo up and down 10 pounds. In 2008 I made a goal to finally reach my desired weight (128) and be in the best shape of my life for my 40th birthday. It was an incredible, faith building journey. My journey continues as I would like to now build more muslce and lower my body fat percentage.

One of my gurus, Tom Venuto teaches:
"By visualizing your fat loss or fitness goal as already achieved, you are giving your subconscious mind instructions that will cause you to automatically begin acting in a way consistent with your mental image. "

As such...

- I awake every morning, eager to bless my body with at least an hour of temple maintenance (exercise).
- My 21% body fat, frame is lean, strong and limber, made so by consistent cardiovascular and muscle building exercise enhanced by flexibility exercises such as yoga and Pilates.
- I plan and document my nutritional intake in order to observe the effect it has on my body and therefore, my desired goal.
- I hydrate my body with fresh water throughout to day to support my liver function which is essential in fat burning.
- I sleep 6- 8 hours each night to facilitate muscle growth and maintain consistent functionality throughout the day.

These are the affirmations that will help me keep site of my current gifts and my future goals.

I continue to educate myself about the obesity under which I suffered so long so that I can help others avoid or escape the same fate.

I've been blessed to be shown a film that's changed everything about the way I nourish myself, my family and has shattered my faith in our government and our health and fitness industry. I now am on a mission to share it.

The documentary Fat Head bravely revealed to the world that the US's current nutrition policy is based on a flawed scientific study, and the consequent misinformation it produced has caused tragic results worldwide. The movie Sugar: The Bitter Truth as well as his newer film Fat Chance further expounds on this disaster.

As it seems that our government is unwilling to admit and take steps to correct these monumental errors, please watch these movies and govern yourselves accordingly.

After a lifetime of being "the fat chick" fitness is now my passion. No gyms, no personal trainers; I am a complete DVD devotee.

My 200+ collection spans kickboxing (fav), dance, step, spinning, rebounding, weight training, yoga and Pilates.

My "gym" equipment includes a weight bench, stability ball, step, Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells, Weighted gloves, Body Bar, barbell, spin bike, rebounder, treadmill, elliptical machine, yoga blocks and mat.

I am a testament to the fact that you don't have to leave your house to get in shape.

    Hey Sis, thanks for stopping by. I will still be on FB because I am doing challenges with Kimberly, the one in our Encouraging Fitness Fanatic group, and Debra. But I want to stop by SP at least once or twice a week to visit some of the teams I am in, update and blog. I may also start using the nutritional tracker.

    I am still doing low carb paleo as it is working or has worked for me, hopefully low carb will help me lose this weight, I am so ready to drop these pounds. I wish I could do WW's, have done it about 3x's, followed it to a "T" and gained!!!! It was only when you suggested the paleo/primal way of eating that I saw results!

    ... anyway, glad to see you are still here, I hope to also see you sometimes on FB as well as I am there most of the time. Love ya, ~ Dee emoticon
