Introduction Text My name is Merilyn. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I am recently married ( 2007) and have two children and four grandkids. I have lost 10 pounds so far with SparkPeople and will continue to use this site in the hopes of dropping a few more pounds. My main reason for using this site is to maintain my good health and to stay strong and fit. I am thrilled to have met some nice people from all over the world since I joined SP.

Exercise daily, either, walking, swimming, biking , elliptical or some other movement. I strive for at least an hour at a time. Eating the right foods is critical to good health. My daily challenge is to eat enough fruits, veggies and get enough fibre.

I am counting calories with the help of a journal and I walk and use my elliptical trainer I also practice Hatha Yoga as a stretching routine. I have started a running program with my walking. I am also racewalking periodically. I have taken up swimming recently as well. Weight training on the Stability ball at least three times per week.

I love to dance, read and my hobbies include sewing and knitting and gardening. I love cats and have recently added a new addition to our family. She is called Munchkin because she is that. I am loving all the new friends I have since joining Sparkpeople. Smile.
