In 2009-2010 I lost an incredible 30+ lbs and reached my goal weight. I had struggled for about 16-yrs with that excess weight, many diet/exercise plans, until I finally found the Alternative Health program in Hartford CT. They were fantastic and M'lis products gave me just the leg-up I needed. Plus I learned so much about healthy eating. It was money well-spent, but not something I could afford forever. As I weaned off the program I was able to maintain my weight for a few years, but somehow 6 year later it's all back. I'm really bummed that I let it happen, I KNOW better! So now I'm back on Sparkpeople, tracking and learning again. The difference this time though is that I KNOW I can do it. A big thank you to everyone here at Sparkpeople, your stories and articles inspire me every day, and give me all the tools and resources I need. I'm looking forward to getting back into a healthier lifestyle-- and this time for good!

My Goals:
I am trying to live more healthy and reduce a little of my carbon footprint.

My Program:
I recently completed an Alternative Health Spa program with John Hoime in West Hartford, CT. The focus was herbal supplements, healthier eating habits and regular exercise. I was able to lose over 30lbs with their help! Now I'm just trying to maintain.

Personal Information:
I live in Connecticut. Spring has sprung! We've had some nice, sunny days. Not too much rain...surprisingly.

Other Information:
Love my family, reading almost anything-especially sci-fi movies/books, hiking, chilling with my grandsons.

    Thank you for the comment on my blog! I already am working at eating six smaller meals a day at around 200 calories each, but some days I just can't get all six in and fall short on my calorie intake. I just might have to go back to three larger meals and add extra snacks in between the larger meals. I also try to eat healthy, but some days I just need that extra sugar boost. LOL But I am hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) so I have to be real careful with my protein intake. Too much protein drops my blood sugar so low that I literally need to drink a glass of sugar water to get rid of the shakes and dizziness it brings on. I also have to make sure I eat on a regular basis because of it. Anyways, my plan is to increase the calories at my "main" meals by adding more healthy carbs.
