My name is Lauren and I used to be a SparkPeople junkie!

I battled weight/self image issues all my life, but recently have had some changes...For some reason, I have come to accept myself for who I am! I am OK with my body, what I eat, an the amount of working out that gets done!

During my college years I was obsessed with working out and eating healthy--to the point where it wasn't mentally healthy (this obsession and dietary changes did help me lose and keep off about 20 lbs!). Once I entered the "real world" I realized there was much more to life than working out and eating a restricted diet. SO, for the past three years or so, I have eaten OK, done SOME workouts, and am happier than I have ever been!

That being said, I feel that it is time to push myself-yes, I am happy with me, but want to see if I can upgrade a little bit-more a "Lauren 2.0".

My Goals:
I really want to challenge myself and see if I can lose just a little bit more! I have always wanted to be 135 (I know...the number on the scale isn't that important), but I think I am ready to attempt this!

My Program:
I live in a VERY isolated town (the nearest gym is 30 minutes away). So I have stocked up on workout DVDs-yoga, sculpting, and even some games for our playstation that get me up and moving! I am not ready to commit hardcore to working out, but every little bit helps!!

Personal Information:
I am a high school social studies teacher in a rural town in Colorado. My husband is a police officer in the same area. We would like to get back to civilzation in the near future (probably next spring) so we can start a family!

Other Information:
You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

    I took personal time off yesterday while on campus to try to get caught up on some work; hardly made a dent! I was also going to straighten up my room because it's Open House tonight. Still messy. I'm taking in a big box to throw all the papers in and put in my car. Sad! But I stuck to No S... emoticon

    I think you are doing great with examining your behavior, including your thoughts, around food. I think you will see that it affects more areas of your life as well, I mean to have the ability to see the absurdity of our motives. I have so many blind spots, but fewer than I used to and it has made life better for me and for those around me.

    BTW, if that is all you have to be ashamed of, consider yourself lucky! I hope you can laugh about it now. I think your fiance should laugh at himself for taking the unbroken cookie, too. Next time, break both of them!
