I'm committed to getting myself healthy, strong and down in weight. I have always been an active, fit person, but for some reason, that went by the wayside over the last few years. It took me awhile to wake up and see how I've been neglecting my health. Now I'm back on track with the help of SP.

I love to cook, and I love the challenge of preparing exciting meals that are nutritious too. I have to watch my cholesterol intake and also ensure I get enough calcium, as I have lost bone mass. Sweets are my downfall, but I've been finding it easier to steer clear - maybe because of all the water I've started drinking. Fortunately my husband and I both love fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. I also love spicy foods!

I have been going to the gym to get my cardio and strength training in, but when the weather turns nicer here in New York, I'll also be outdoors walking and running. In winter, I love skiing, both downhill and Nordic and in the summer I love sailing, kayaking and taking walks.

Over the last few years I started gaining all of this weight, and I was at first in denial. I kept thinking it would be easy to take it off and I really didn't notice just how much weight I'd gained until recently. It scared me I guess when I went skiing and couldn't even do more than a few runs, plus my form was terrible. I knew I had to take some serious steps to turn things around. My Goals:
I want to get some muscle and agility back so that I can enjoy myself sailing, skiing, jogging, and keeping up with my granddaughter. I also hope to reduce stress and feel more energetic. And yes, I'd like to look good in a bathing suit once again.

My Program:
My new healthy habits are drinking water, exercising, cutting out junk food and staying within my allowed calories. Simple right?

Personal Information:
I am married to my childhood sweetheart, am mother of two amazing daughters, grandmother to the cutest baby girl in the world and lucky to have many wonderful friends & family members to share life's wonders with me.

Other Information:
I love family, friends, vacations, red wine, good movies, good music, sushi, laughing, learning to speak Spanish, playing Cranium, being outdoors, cooking.
