Mupp weighed 244 in August of 2007.
Mupp lost 80 pounds!
Mupp started "living" life.
Mupp yo-yo'd.
Mupp started making excuses.
Mupp weighed 212 in March of 2011...
Mupp tried sparking again.. got lazy.. again...
More excuses...
November 2012.. gained almost ALL of my weight back.

I can do this. I will do this!

My Goals:
Ultimately I would like to weigh 170 - 175 and wear a size 12. That's still overweight for my height - 5'4", but that's what I weighed a few years ago after starting my weight loss journey in 2007. I felt so good, loved going shopping for clothes and had the confidence to do anything I set my mind to. I want to feel that way again.


My Program:
Planning and tracking my meals.

Every evening I plan out my meals for the next day. When I stay within my spark ranges... I lose weight.. go figure!

I really want to get back into running and am currently doing a couch to 5k program.

I swim a couple of times a week and LOVE it.

Also mix in other cardio - ellip, rowing, bike.. and I've got to get back into lifting some weights too!

Personal Information:
I've struggled with my weight all of my life. My relationship with food is pretty messed up. Some of my family members make it a point to let me know how fat I am... like I don't know. Thankfully, my husband loves and supports me through THICK and THIN! ;)

    Hi! Thanks so much for the support and commenting on my blog. Yea, I really feel it's whatever works for you. I like your mantra too! It's about lifestyle change so we can't be doing things that we can't live with for the rest of our lives. That's why I don't believe in going cold turkey on anything. Moderation is key. What you said was right!

    in a group i'm in a lady sent through a post that really hit home for me, it wasn't addressed to me, but much of it pertains to how i've been dealin with things, ya know-making excuses and hopin that it will just all happen on it's own, what a joke, but that's what i was doin. anway i wanted to share it:

    Melissa: Be patient? I'm guessing that's what you've been doing for the past several years, just sitting and waiting and hoping for change to happen for you instead of being proactive and making a difference in your life. Where has it gotten you so far? Deeper in debt? Thirty pounds heavier? More depressed? Being patient is not a solution, it just means you've resigned yourself to tolorating more of the status quo because you're unwilling to do what it takes to make change happen. I'm sorry to see that you've given up on yourself. As long as you're hiding behind your excuses you will continue to be blind to the real solutions that would made a difference in your life. Nobody can do this for you.

    I live in a very small, country town, too. Whereever there are people, there are jobs, you just have to look for them. If you can't find a job, you can make a job, there are lots of folks who start their own businesses right out of their homes. We also only have one car which my husband uses to drive back and forth to work. I work in the cafeteria at my children's school, a job that allows me to be home when my children are which is important to me. The school is just over 2 miles away, I ride my bike on nicer days and it can be a bit of a hike on snowy days but I view it as built in exercise. Where there's a will there's a way. If you continue to do nothing but wait for someone else to make a difference in your life the only thing that is guaranteed is that five years from now you'll be no better off. Your health will have deteriorated more, you'll weigh more, you'll have more debt and you'll still be patiently waiting for those better days to just happen. If you want change, you have to make it happen. Aren't you worth it? Isn't your family worth it?

    The most important part of being a good mom is being responsible and giving your children a good role model. They are watching and learning by how you live, how you approach and solve problems, your attitude. Are you teaching them to be strong, responsible and independent? Are you setting a good example for them to follow? Are you a positive force in their lives? Are you showing them how to face life with a good attitude and a responsible approach to problem solving? Will you be proud if they follow in your footsteps?

    SEE WHAT I MEAN!! wow the truth stings doesn't it! i really needed this wake up call! I think i may be the excuse queen when i comes to dieting!
