I'm 58 years old, and a recently retired school teacher. I've been fooling around for a while trying to lose weight, but I know I have to get focused! I lost 75 pounds 10 years ago and slowly gained back about 50 pounds. My weight has been stable for the last 3 or 4 years but now I'd like to turn the scale back.

My Goals:
I am going to improve my health by losing 50 pounds, taking my medications and vitamins every morning, exercising for at least 120 minutes at least 5 days a week, tracking my food daily and staying within the nutritional guidelines, and getting 7 - 8 hours of sleep every night. I am going to improve my social network by making more friends and getting involved in more activities outside my home. I'm going to get a low-stress, full-time job.

My Program:
I'm trying to establish healthy habits by getting up at the same time, taking medication and vitamins at regular times, getting more exercise into my life by driving less and walking more, going to the gym daily, maintaining a weight training program, giving up caffine, alcohol, and sleeping on a regular basis. I'm also joining more social groups to get me out of the house and keep my frame of mind more positive. This includes getting more involved with my teams on Sparkpeople.

Other Information:
I love to walk, garden, and generally be outside. I am an avid reader and just recently joined a book club at my library. I am an avid swimmer. I am currently leaving a long-term relationship and trying to use this as an opportunity to focus on myself and my health.
