Let me start off by divulging something: I am never happy with having to write intoduction texts about myself, and as a result I am always rewriting them.

Let me start off by divulging something: I am never happy with having to write intoduction texts about myself, and as a result I am always rewriting them.
So, with that out of the way, please allow me to have a go at this. After all, I do want to make a good first impression and I dislike profiles with nothing on them, and I am not allowed to be a hypocrite.
Like so many other Sparkers I have been overweight, or considered myself to be overweight, ever since things like that started to matter, and, perhaps like you, tried a wide variety of diet pills and fad diets. Well, the diet pills never worked and the fad diets only brought on dizziness and binging - oddly, it took me five years or so before breaking that cycle. I swear, I am not usually that dense!
I am sociophobic, triggered by eating and moving (especially at the same time) in front of others. Unfortunately, I was not diagnosed before I was well out of school, meaning I had to force myself through Physical Education and come to hate, hate, hate exercise of all kinds. Add the fact that I was incredibly lonely and my only comfort was food...you can see where I am going with this. I started exercising at the university gym in 2005, and for that reason managed to keep my weight reasonably in check (at about 80 kg/176 Ibs); however, my mental health had started spiralling and eventually I stopped going, for some reason. In January 2009 I reached my all-time high at a whooping 90 kg/198 Ibs. That is when I decided to lose weight.
I came to SparkPeople in July 2010. By that time I had managed to lose quite a bit of weight but had completely lost control; I see now that I was well on my way of developing an eating disorder. I had spent summer of 2009 as an in-patient at a phychiatric ward, and I had promised myself that I would do my absolute best never having to go back there again, for whatever reason. SparkPeople has been an incredible tool and I can happily report that my ED tendencies have lessened dramatically.
What, then, am I still doing here? Because I know I need to lose a little weight but I want to keep those ED thoughts well at bay. I hate feeling isolated in my efforts of toning up and slimming down, and at the same time I want to keep this little project to myself. Virtual friends are therefore ideal!
So yes. That would be me.
Oh! I forgot to add - I have a fetish for cupcakes, butterflies, stationary and non-black tea. Just in case you wanted to know something non-diet related.
