May 1, 2010 - Yes I am smiling. Down 7.5 lbs in April, ran 63.24 miles and feeling strong and proud. I would like to place an order for the same results in May please:) I'm back in the swing of things. I'm learning to not be afraid to eat when I'm hungry so I don't snap and end up binging. April was a really good month for me. No out of control eating. I was surprised at how much I was eating and still losing. Choosing healthy snacks like carrots and hummus, whole wheat crackers and laughing cow cheese along with yogurt and fresh fruits and almonds were among my staples for last month snacks. Along with my 73% cocoa pleasures chocolate and skinny cow fudge bars and popcorn:) Salad, boca burgers and chicken were my staple fall back foods for dinner. I tried shirataki noodles in a fresh veggie stir fry last night and it was really good. I just gotta keep on keeping on and finding things I know I can stick to for the rest of my life.

June of 2008 I had my awareness moment after my 3rd baby was turning 1 and deciding to wean her own self from nursing. I dedicated my sleepless nights to my babies. Feeding them in the night, taking care of them when I was exhausted. When you’re a mom, you just do it. Do you want to wake up at 2am, 4am and then up for the day at 6am? NO, but you just do it and it's all worth it to see your babies happy and loved and well taken care of. That first year of life is so amazing and fun to see all the first times and see how much they learn and grow in just one short year. After my last baby turned 1 I vowed to dedicate the next year to working on my health. I vowed to work out, even when I was tired, just as I did when I needed to take care of my kids.. It's all been sooo worth it. The first few months were just like having a newborn. You’re tired for a while until you fall into your routine. I was tired in the evenings after putting my kids to bed. I adopted the attitude to just do something as something is better then nothing. Never did I finish a work out and wished I had just gone to bed. You go to bed feeling accomplished and so very proud of yourself. It's so worth it to start to see the results from consistent effort. Not perfect by any means but I always gave myself and E for effort:)

I've learned this is a journey for life. I lost 50 lbs, gained back 28 and now realize how much daily accountability is needed to stay on track. As of May 2010 I have 20 lbs to go to get back to my goal weight. I'm never giving up. This is a daily challenge for me. This is my life and I want to make it the best life. I'm a WAHM with 3 kids 7 and under. I do daycare part time right now. I need clean foods and exercise to give me the energy to keep up with my kids and everything that life throws at me.

We are all tired at the end of the day. I know after making myself do the work and seeing the results I always feel better when I just do it.
SUCCESS BREEDS MORE SUCCESS!! I can't yell that loud enough. It's sooo true.

I just love this quote and I really do try to live by it:
Now if you are going to win any battle, you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.”

— Gen. George S. Patton

I've learned so much about myself in the short time I've been looking around this site. I know my balance of food and exercise was way out of whack. I lost weight because I was working out to correct my food mistakes instead of learning to control my food choices. I'm here to find my balance in food and exercise. Reach my goal weight AGAIN and learn to maintain.

Update: 12/25/09

I've been hanging out around the 150's for the last few months with very little effort. I've been losing and gaining the same 7 pounds for months. When I work out I lose weight because I am also being accountable with the foods I choose. When I'm not working out I don't hold myself accountable for my food choices. I eat when I'm not hungry, I eat when I'm stressed or have a moment of boredom. 3pm and after dinner have always been the hardest time of day for me. I've made a lot of progess in finding healthy foods I really enjoy. I need to continue to stock up on the heatlhy foods and try to keep the junk out of the house.

Goal for 2010:
Focus on my food choices. Don't obsess over calories. Eat to the point of feeling satisfied and not full. I know I eat more then what I truely need. Many times I'm eating far beyond the point my stomach signaled me it was satisfied. My one goal is to not be satisfied and sluggish but to be satisfied and energized. With my food under control I won't feel the need to over exercise. I'm hoping the balance in food will then balance out my exercise and I won't feel the need to over train.

My Goals:
I lost 50 lbs and met my goal of 130 on Jan 12, 2009. I thought I had won the battle and lost track of consistant exercise. My goal is to continue my journey and figure out my balance of food and exercise.

My Program:
Drink 2 liters of water a day.
Choose the right foods during the day to help fight late night cravings.
Cardio 15 miles a week
strength train 3x a week

My top fat burning foods I like are
#1 must have-low fat yogart,
Skim Mozerella cheese, cashews,
tomato sauce,
whole wheat toast and bagels (arnolds, no HFCS 100% whole wheat is my favorite)
Frozen berrys to make a smoothie at any time.

I look at my overall weekly calories verses the day to day range of 1200-1500. I believe in calorie shifting. Lower on some days and higher on others. My day to day schedule varies so much that I have to vary my calorie intake day to day.

Weekly goal 10500 to lose 2 lbs if I work out 6 x.

Personal Information:
I discovered I'm a runner. I love the challenge during and the high I get after. I tend to overdue it. I struggle with plantar fasciitis as a result of too much too fast after taking time off. I need to find a consistant balance. Some days 3 miles seems like not enough and other days I struggle to just get 3 miles. I can run 5 miles easy after taking time off. I need to meet somewhere in the middle.

2010 miles:
Jan - 32 miles
Feb - 16 miles
March - 6 miles (WOW-what happened????)
April - 63.24 miles That's more like it. Down 7 lbs
