I've changed some of my goals over the last year. Moving towards a vegetarian diet, I'm striving to improve my weight and fitness. I have slowly lost fifteen pounds and now my goal is to maintain these changes and continue to lose the weight, another 25 pounds.

I'm interested to know others, who are sixty and over and have issues with fat around the middle, as I do. This metabolism of mine has change in the last 15 years, and now I find it very difficult to slim down. It seems like only yesterday when I could eat less, exercise more intensely and take off those pounds in no time. I would love to talk to other seniors and share our experiences.

Don't get me wrong, I love to talk to others of all ages. I'm sure we share much in common when it comes to keeping our motivation up and making life style changes.

I've always been interested in how our mind works regarding our addictions and habits. We are able to see the big picture, understand what we need to do, but for me and a lot of others I suspect, its like fighting an "alter ego" that wants its own satisfaction - eat that cookie or drink that glass of wine. We see it - sometimes we win, sometimes we give in to "the other".

My Goals:
My goal is to improve my diet and physical fitness and control my weight.


My Program:
I have become mostly vegetarian, a little fish included. My biggest change has been to eliminate sugar and follow the candida diet as much as possible. It has made a difference in the weight around my middle, I feel more energy and I think better, hooray! I am swimming and walking everyday, but my weight is very hard to lose at 70 years old. Its a slow process.and I have lost 15 pounds towards my goal,

I am a retired teacher of special education and visual arts. I am an artist, currently doing photography, drawing and painting.


Other Information:

    Hello there, I'm 73 and off to a good start losing 30 lbs. I am getting the tracking down. I need to lose 60 or 70 lbs, but my first goal is 30. I've been tracking everything for 8 days, but no improvement yet. I just got serious about reclaiming my self. I have back problems, etc., but I'm going to try to belly dance anyway. At least get the moves down. I hope if I go slow, it will strengthen my back, help me lose weight, and get somewhat of my body back. I don't know how that can be done after 70, but I guess we'll see! emoticon
