I am a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister & friend..
My hobbies are gardening, animals, photography, esp. Nature Photo's. I love rabbits and dogs. Hiking, camping and being outdoors are high on my priority list.
I enjoy baking.
I love writing. My #1 love is music, I couldn't have made it this far on my weight loss journey without it.
I am using portion control and exercise as my means of losing weight. I eat between 1200 and 1500 Calories per day. I weigh and measure everything. I wear my Fitbit daily to track my steps and get no less than 25,000 steps per day.
I go about my weight loss by setting 10 pound goals. Once I lose the 10 pounds I will set a new 10 pound goal. For however long it takes. That way it doesn't seem like my goal is out of reach. I have to get healthy, for me. I want to feel good again first and foremost. I want to be here for my 3 children for as long as possible, living a healthy life is key to that goal. And I want to see my 3 Grandsons grow up.
One of my major goals is to get my B.M.I. down to a healthy range.
When I started my journey my B.M.I. was 50.2 which is dangerously HIGH! Through proper nutrition and exercise I have brought it down to 26
That is still high, there is progress though. Ideally, when I get to my goal weight, my B.M.I. should be 25 or just under. This is more important to me than looking good or losing the weight. More than anything, I want my health back. I have let it go for too long. It's time for me, time for me to take charge of my body and the things I do to it and the things I put in it.
The fight is on and I plan on being victorious!
Started my Spark Journey at 350+ lbs.
Prior to joining Sparks I weighed in at 400 lbs. I was in the 330's when I first utilized SparkPeople.
I'm moving at a tortoise pace but I'm moving.
This part will be confusing to most but it's mainly for me to keep a story line, view my set backs and illnesses along the way and also to prove that even through adversity, if you don't give up or in you will succeed.

150's:
I mess up sometimes, I'm human. The key is, you have to continually remind yourself that you are worthy of being healthy. Sometimes I forget this and snuff out that little voice and then somewhere like a mighty wave that voice washes over me and says, "Get it girl, you got this, move forward from here, learn from the mistakes you made and just do it."
"QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!"
Goal: 155 Lbs.
No matter what happens in your life, you have been blessed with that circumstance to mold yourself into a better, stronger person. So take charge and JUST DO IT! NO REGRETS!
Reminder to all: Treat others
the way you yourself want to be treated.
You will never rise higher than the company you keep. Strive for quality always. And above all else, respect yourself, if you don't, nobody else will.

My Goals:
Here to lose 175 pounds, (*ACCOMPLISHED! NOT STOPPING YET) My goal is to lose 10 pounds at a time. I think small goals like this make for success. Only having to lose 10 pounds seems so much more attainable than saying I have to lose 100 or more.
My Program:
I am eating recommended portions of food per nutrition labels. Cutting back on fats/Sugars but not cutting them out completely, limiting processed foods and calorie counting.
Incorporating more fresh fruits, veggies & whole grains in my daily meals.
And exercising no less than 2 Hour a day.
Personal Information:
Living in the mid-west as of now, I am a Mountain Girl at heart. Although for the most part I was raised in OKC, Oklahoma. Spent 20 of my adult years in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC. I consider North Carolina home. I'm Mom of three, 2 Boys, 1 Girl and Nana to three boys.
I believe you have a responsibility to comport yourself in a manner that gives an example to others.
Other Information:
I'm not liking the image of the person looking back at me in the mirror. I'm a good person, don't get me wrong. I'm just a VERY unhealthy person at the present time, I need to fix that. And I've come to realize I am the only mechanic in the whole world that can fix ME.
I'm clearing away all the things that have limited me in the past. My future is wide open. I will empower myself to make the changes necessary to build my life the way I want it to be from here on
Surround your self with positive people, people who believe and encourage you. People who are upbeat and love life but most of all, people who love you just because you are you, no stipulations, no strings.
An exercise tip: Walk early in the morning,
before your brain figures out what you're doing.
