Oh you sweet thing! I am glad you clarified what you can give up for lent. That is good I am sure to giving up things other than food is perfect. . "Things" seem to clutter our lives much to much. A scripture that addresses that for us as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is this, D&C 25:10 And verily I say unto thee that thou shalt lay aside the things of this world, and seek for the things of a better. That "better" for me is strong relationship with my savior Jesus Christ. He takes me a step at a time toward that goal. For me He desires that I give up sweets altogether because I tend to rely on them to give me that momentary peace whcih feels so good to my flesh that I forget what has caused me to turn to the sweets in the first place so that I do not go to the Lord for His peace. That direction caused too much work in the past and I am always in a hurry, most often. But repentance is coming slow but sure. I know I need to slow down and live...the good life with HIM.. emoticon

I am so glad you can watch your church meetings online. These computers were a "God send" because I watch my meetings online too. I could go to the meetings physically and I much prefer that as I miss my "brothers and sisters" and the hugs and love I received there. We have a very friendly "ward". But until this pandemic has slowed down I am leary of getting out in public.

I had a heart episode yesterday. But I feel better that way today. I know I have to be strict in the "plain road" for me. I am thankful I did not have acid reflux last night so I slept a little better.

How are you feeling? I love you and am praying for your success. Please message me your full name so I can add them in my prayers.

emoticon for being my partner in this journey of a 40 day "sacrifice". I do have two days behind me now of giving up honey and maple syrup. I have given up sugar and refined foods for over a year now but I had replaced the sugar with honey and or organic maple syrup on occasion. emoticon

Although I know they have some nutrition in them they are still sweet and they make me crave them. My desire to give them up is so that I will not turn to them when I feel tired or stressed. I want my God to be Jesus not sweets. If I lose some weight doing that, well ok but that is beside the point for me. Knowing I made a promise to you to do this with you, helped me overcome the temptation this afternoon to indulge myself. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You answered my question I didn't see at first on the previous page..., till Easter. I wish I had started on the 17 when it began. That means I missed out on 8 days. Maybe I can go 8 days past Easter, so I can get my 40 days in. I am praying I can last that long without the honey and maple syrup. emoticon I am going to do it. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon .

Oh my goodness my dear. How long are you giving up all those things for? emoticon I didn't have any honey or maple syrup today, but I ate roast beef and it made me have acid reflux. I knew better. I think I will add that to my list of sacrifices for the rest of my life. The reflux is not worth it. emoticon Keep up the good work. emoticon .

I am so glad you found me on SP also. When does lent start for you. Are you giving up Mocha? for Lent? I am not Catholic but I will give up something to support you and in the meantime help myself.. I will give up honey and maple syrup. How many more days? You are a women after my heart. "Thursday is think thin day in the thick of things and be thankful anyway". That's my motto for the day. emoticon emoticon emoticon
