I have been overweight all my life, but in my later years have been more aware of the challenges that gives me. I have lost around 20 lbs and have just recently found this site. And what a site it is! I am positive that I will find friends, support and encouragement to "DO IT!" this time. UPDATE: 6/23/10 I'm doin' it this time, as I said I would! SparkPeople works...if you let it! UPDATE: 9/25/10 170 by Valentine's Day 2011 UPDATE: 1/4/11 Unexpected and much needed total hip replacements (R) on Dec 21st and (L) Apr 5th. changed my life and goals. UPDATE: 6/23/11 DD's wedding is 7/9 and altho 30 lbs from goal, I'm planning n lookin' pretty good for an old gal! NEW GOAL: 170 by my b-day mid Sept!! Well, didn't make THAT goal. Going to TRY to get back to Sparking. New Year, Fresh start. Jan 1, 2013 I want goal by July. I want to have clothes that are comfortable ALL the time. I want to be fit enough to walk the beach in Aug when I go to FL w/son and fam. I want to be in CA a yr from today watching the Rose Parade in it's 125th year. UPDATE 7.13.15: I've been going to do this for quite awhile. Hips are great!!! The beach time in Aug 2013 DID make a BIG difference. I am still getting stronger in the hips. Needing both done and being on the lazy side delayed progress. I have gained and lost 30#'s a couple times and am now on the down slide. I joined TOPS a year ago Aug 12. I have lost 25#s and am hovering just above ONEderland. I've decided I MUST lose it this time or I may never get to goal which is 175. Only 26 to go!! I have another grandbaby on the way. My youngest is due in Oct. My baby having a baby is so special. I have stepped down as Pres of ladies group at church but am still involved and have agreed to be Leader at TOPS once they said that no one wanted the task since the present Leader wants to step down. I NEED TOPS and Sparkpeople to make Goal!! 9-14-16. Today I am a fairly healthy, not to goal yet but still trying, 68 year old. I am back down from 213 (again) and still wanting to get to 175. Life is Good!!

    Hi Mary!!! OH I am SO happy to hear from you! Glad you are still going strong! Dorian came by for a visit and made landfall on Cape Hatterass and we are on the inner coastal plains and got lots of 40 mph winds and 75 mph gusts all night on Friday night.....it was unnerving.

    Anyway, my son and daughter-in-law are both doing WW (weight watcher) and I am trying it too, but I still need to get sparked sometimes!! Got up to 212 lbs most I have EVER weighed!! now I am 205 and going in the right direction...slowly.

    Hope the weather is going good for you and let's keep in touch!! Oh and our little grandson, James, is adorable and we love babysitting him when needed.
