So, in March of 2004 I realized that I HAD to do something. I had just entered graduate school at the University of New Orleans in Counselor Education after failed attempts at fitting in "in the real world." It look me at least 2 years to really understand diet and exercise, but I went from weighing 353 pounds to about 315 pounds in a matter of months. That big drop seemed to disappear without my even trying. I'm not sure where the weight went, but I was super glad it was gone. It sent me into a state of mind that was continually exploring this "idea of weight loss." Having been overweight since I was 7 (YES, SEVEN) years old, I'd been victim of many dieting programs: weight watchers at 12, children's hospital program at 15, and then, I went away to college.
Through college, my weight went from the high school weight of 280 up to 325, then onward to 353 at its highest in 2003.

I moved home from Austin to New Orleans in 2008, turned 30 and had Lapband. I lost 125 lbs and kept it off for 3 years. Then, I had to have the band taken out. I gained about 20 lbs, but they are coming off and I'm working on getting back down to my goal weight of 175. I'll get there, because I keep working for it!
