Patricia, thanks for asking. Here is a brief summary of the game.

Hanafuda is Japanese for “flower cards.” It is a deck of 48 cards divided into 12 suits of four cards. Each suit is named for a month of the year and an associated flower (or flower-like plant) identified with that month. The seasonal flowers have long histories in poetry and art, often tracing back to Heian, Japan or Táng, China, and are rich in folklore and trivia. The cards are tiny, only 2 1/8 by 1 1/4 inches but about three times thicker than Western cards.

Hanafuda is played by Hawaii locals for over a century. Hanafuda Hawaii Style is easy to learn and fun to play. These cards have points, suits, and yaku indicators on the cards to make learning the game much easier. The shared objective of each game is to score the highest amounts of points by making combinations with cards known as “yaku.”

Printing from a computer is a big investment; however, my printer is used 90% for scanning my documents. This way I can shred my paper copies.

    Hi Patricia,
Having any savings on groceries is a great plus, especially if it is something I use often. I love the Morningstar crumbles since hubby and I don't eat red meat.

Have a great start of the new month! emoticon
