Thanks for the friend add. I added you too.

Reading your profile reminded me of when I turned 30 last year. I ended up in a depression over the big 3-0 and that depression coma lasted almost the whole year. I ended up gaining 10-15 lbs from just refusing to accept that with age comes a slower metabolism. I finally came out of my stupor back in April (yup, it lasted 11 months) and asked myself what the hell was I doing. I started getting back on track with exercising -- real exercise, not just yoga or pilates until I felt a bit of sweat before I quit and started managing what I eat. My biggest downfall is beer. I love a nightcap before sleep with hubby and manage to fit it into my calorie intake. Not a good thing!! That is the next thing I need to work on. That and smoking.

Anyways, enough rambling. I hope you have a wonderful day and I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Keep Smiling,
    Mandy ツ

Welcome! Looks like you figured it out!

I read your SparkPage and nodded along--this was me too. Most of my life I could eat anything--I mean ANYTHING, half a pound of fudge, a bag of Doritos, whatever--and always weighed the same. Then I hit 30 and something changed. People blame pregnancy, but I think our metabolism just changes with age because I hadn't had a kid yet. Anyway, it took me several more years to discover tracking (radical concept--pay attention to what you eat!) and other great tools from Weight Watchers, like noticing when I'm full and stopping.

I just joined SP, wanting a free daily support site and online tracker, and I really like the community too. Have fun!
