A trip to the hospital proved something to me: there's a big difference between "thin" and "healthy." I am technically about 20 pounds overweight (according to the "ideal" weight range for my height) but my overall health is really good! My pants size may not be where I'd prefer it, but my blood pressure is enviable, my sugar and cholesterol are both healthy, and I am CAPABLE.

I am capable of kickboxing for an hour. I am capable of running a 5K. I am capable of learning new kata for martial arts. I am capable of walking for two hours at a time. I am capable of playing tennis.

My forties did not start as I'd hoped, but that doesn't mean "roll over and quit." My fitness goals, my business goals, and my personal goals are taking shape, but I understand that shape can shift.

Be healthy. Be happy. And lean not on your own understanding.

Your "10 things about me" post so SO inspirational! As I read it, I was nodding my head and saying "mmmm, girl..."

Congrats on your 2nd degree blackbelt. What an accomplishment!

I just saw your status and I know how you feel. Don't give up. Take it one day at a time. You can do this.

You have really had a time of it lately. Do you feel better being on the meds -- do you think they are taking care of the symptoms?

I'm glad that your vitals are good! Way better than mine! It's unfortunate but sometimes it seems like all we can do is do what we can for our bodies and move on with life. My Mom had Leukemia for 12 years and that's what she did. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other!

    Hang in there.
