Do you know any Sparkies who live in NYC? Someone might know someone who has a spare room for the summer. Worth asking around.

And some hotels are willing to work out a lower rate for someone who is staying for a longer period of time.

If I hear of anything, I'll let you know!

How thrilling for her!!!! Do they provide housing, or will she need to find something? Housing is always the biggest expense in NYC, but there are a batch of YMCAs (or YWCAs) that are affordable. Also hostels, but that might not be great for longer term. We've done Air BnB in the city, but they're now cracking down on that to limit the amount of time a guest can stay. However, if you know anyone in the city who is willing to put her up for the time, that would be the best. (I have a nephew in the city, but not sure if he has a 1 or 2 bdrm apt.)

The NYC subway is the fastest and easiest way to get around - she can buy a card and keep topping it up as she needs to. Food can be expensive, but there are tons of little shops and caf├ęs and those are cheaper. TONS of good food!

Will you help her get set up?
