I lost 20 pounds in 2008 (USING SPARKPEOPLE) right before i turned 40. I am the same person as "GoSheila" (listed as a friend below) but lost my password and cannot access that account anymore....I REALLY WANT TO BE THAT GIRL AGAIN FROM 12 YEARS AGO! see my many updates over the past 12 years below of my up & down...

UPDATE: **January 1, 2021** TYPICAL New Year's Day "resolution" to lose weight, but I'm REALLY FREAKING going to do it this time! Goal is to get to 145 by May 1 so that I'm ready for J's high school graduation and camp! BTW, huge excuse for doing so terrible after Apr 27 last year was that my older sister died at the end of May and then I just "didn't care" with the pandemic, etc...

**April 27, 2020** ah, yes 3 years has gone by AGAIN...i LOST 10 pounds in 2017 with the "Whole 30" program...and then gained it back. Then I lost 10 pounds again in summer of 2019 via walking, no alcohol and doing low-carb...and then gained it back! GOTTA stop this rollercoaster and get a firm HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. Let's see how I do this time!! #NeedStrength OH and I'm starting this on Week 9 of "Stay At Home" (first b/c I had surgery Feb 24, then ORDERED to SAH by the CO Governer due to COVID-19)...


UPDATE: **JANUARY 14, 2017** OK - this is VERY SAD that I keep updating this page each new year and I hate excuses, but shortly after I updated LAST January, my Mom died and then my father-in-law died and my house flooded and....well you get the picture. I cannot SEEM to catch a BREAK!!

NOW on top of all of that, my older sister who is ONLY 51 is facing some extremely tough health challenges (mainly due to her weight), so I could FOLD it all up now and give in to DEFEAT, but I am using her as inspiration....b/c the docs told her SHE MUST LOSE 100 POUNDS to get a new knee. THEREFORE, in solidarity with her, I will LOSE 20 POUNDS. I am already ONE WEEK in....had to push through that and make sure i was REALLY committed this time before DECLARING on SP that I am going to do it THIS YEAR! BUT I AM....i lost 20 pounds in 2008 right before i turned 40, so my last 1.5 years in my 40s, I'm going to do it again!!!!


**JANUARY 3, 2016** pretty much the same as below, but I REALLY WANT TO BE SERIOUS THIS YEAR! 2015 was not good as I had to have 8 inches of my colon removed in mid-Jan and YOU WOULD THINK i would have been healthier after that surgery, but I continued to be pretty self-destructive...BUT NO MORE!

**June 2, 2013 UPDATE** I originally lost 20 pound FIVE years ago (2008) USING SPARKPEOPLE. I totally believe in SP if you follow it and make it a habit! But I then put the weight back on and stopped exercising as consistently.

I am the same person as "GoSheila" (listed as a friend below) but lost my password and cannot access that account anymore....I REALLY WANT TO BE THAT GIRL AGAIN FROM FIVE YEARS AGO! But I also think I like this "clean break" from "GoSheila" is important b/c the year after i got so healthy led to this past FIVE YEARS of excuses and bad habits.

I tried to re-start on SP in Aug 2010 and haven't made good progress. Now after my sister has had some major health scares, I AM TOTALLY MOTIVATED to get back in healthy shape! WISH ME LUCK.


Re-joined SP in Aug 2010 when I got to a low low point, and didn't really start FOR real on my new healthy journey til May 2011....



June 13, 2011: Read today that you must be kind to yourself and let yourself make mistakes. My mistake was thinking it wasn't worth it to eat well and exercise and lose weight....but now I realize that it is worth it to my mental and physical well-being to put the effort forward. It is NOT easy to lose weight, and I know that, but I fooled myself into thinking it...fooled no longer...
