So, here I am starting afresh at 32. I've been on this weight loss plan for over a year now. I successfully lost 40 lbs at first, but I have taken a flying leap off of the bandwagon and gained 12 lbs back. Now I'm looking for something, anything to remotivate myself.

What was my motivation at first? To get healthy, reducing my blood pressure and helping reduce the affects of my arthritis. Ok, so I got my blood pressure down to a "normal" range, but the arthritis is still a challenge. If I don't stop the train now, my blood pressure will be an issue again shortly and I'll be lucky to avoid diabetes.

How am I going to do this??

My Goals:
I don't like to have numerical goals because I always tend to disappoint myself. Instead, I want to have behavioral goals.

To log my food everyday, even on the weekends.

To exercise at least 30 minutes a day, except on Sunday.

To drink 80 oz of water per day.

To read my Bible daily.

My Program:
First, I am going to try and kick this insomnia, go see a doctor if necessary. Without a decent night of sleep, I'm less motivated to hit the gym in the morning.

Secondly, I need to promise myself to hit the gyms in the morning, regardless of what happened the day or night before. I've been using the marriage group we lead and other nighttime activities as excuses to sleep in the next morning. NO MORE!

Thirdly, I must log every oz of food I consume, no matter how bad it is. I must face the facts on a daily basis.

Finally, I need to pray every moment I feel tempted, every morning when I start the day's journey, every night before I go to bed. It is only with the Lord's help will I accomplish what seems to be an overwhelming task at the moment.
