I'm Angela and I've realized that I keeping making myself (and my health) a secondary priority to almost everything else in my life. That's how Ive ended up 160 pounds over weight. In the last couple of years so many things have fallen into place for me--meeting the person I will marry and spend my life with, buying a wonderful house and FINALLY getting great job. Looking at all of those 'right' things, has made the wrong one stand out even more. I've realized now is the time to change my priorities so that health, exercise and weight loss come first. My last doctor's visit showed that I have been fortunate in the fact that my weight has not affected my health...YET. I am at a point where it could go either way and I know which way I want to go.

Fitness Minutes: 90

My Goals:
My overall goal is 160 lbs. The first 100 lbs I am going to conquer in 20 lb increments with the rewards that follow:

1. Mani/Pedi
2. Highlights
3. Message
4. Knit Picks Order
5. Spa Day

The last 60 lbs I broke into 15 lbs goals and rewards as follows:

1. High End Yarn for Sweater
2. Bike Shorts/ Jersey
3. Spa Day
4. V.S. Shopping Spree

Once I start conquering my weight loss goals, I want to work on fitness goals such as starting to run (my sister-in-law to be has offered to run with me) and training for RAGBRAI.

My Program:
I really want to focus on eating healthy by eating a good variety of fresh foods. I'm not into to any crazy cabbage soup diet nonsense. My big struggle is exercise. I like to bike, walk out giant dog and do yoga, but I need to get a more structured plan in place.

Personal Information:
My home is Dubuque, Iowa.

Other Information:
In my free time, what little I have right now, I liked to read a wide variety of books (fiction and non), knit, scrapbook and surf the web.

    Welcome to the EE team!!

I’ve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, it’s a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!!

Check out the main page of the EE team- there are “stickied” topics you may be interested in to get involved- a buddy thread, a place to introduce yourself, weigh-in challenge, a birthday post.

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. I’ve been here for over a year now, and I still am overwhelmed, every day, by the kindness and goodness of others on this team!! That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success!

~~best of luck to you on all of your goals!!!
