    Oh, also have you read Jillian Michaels' book Unlimited? I just read it last month and I highly recommend it. It is about achieving your goals, overcoming your fears, and making yourself the best version of yourself. I found it very applicable and inspiring. I know you're a fan of her, so I thought I'd pass along the word ;)

    Hi Maja!

    I'm sorry it took me so long to reply! It has been a crazy month. My grandma passed away last week, and every since there have been a lot of decisions and changes all at once.

    I'm sorry to hear that your summer was so difficult, but glad to hear your relative is doing well now. Also congrats on losing the 10 pounds! I have lost almost 15 pounds since spring, and again nearing the halfway point which is where I got stuck and derailed last time. This time I really hope to pass 143 and even lower. I will be delighted to see the 130s again for the first time since high school!

    How is your new workout plan going? Are you using any specific plan? Since I gave up my gym membership, I usually do ballet-inspired body weight exercises for strength training and the stationary bike for cardio. I think it's time to push myself a little harder! I also started tracking my food on livestrong.com every day in the spring, and that alone has helped me a lot!

    I would love to see pictures of Greece or of your intended New Year's dress. I have one planned for our church's Christmas Eve service, and I know I will have to weigh ballpark 144 pounds or less for it to fit properly. I'm on a mission!

    I haven't had any time (or inspiration) for the book lately. It's on back burner, but not abandoned.

    Hi Maja! It seems like a long time since we’ve caught up. I hope all is well. How is your work? The novel? Weight loss? It looks like you’re headed in the right direction with the weight loss at least. And you’re so very close to your goal!

    This past summer was the best I’ve had in a long time. I got to nanny three school-aged children. Instead of traditional babysitting in someone’s home, we went all over the place – museums, the community pool, the local libraries, playgrounds, parks and walking trails. We had a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed the change of pace and getting to act like a kid again.

    In April the doctor ran some blood tests, and I learned I had somewhat high cholesterol (235 where it should be under 200), low “good” cholesterol (37 where it should be at least 40), high “bad” cholesterol (138 when it should be under 129), and very elevated triglycerides (300 when it should be under 150). The results of getting lax with the diet! The doctor told me to limit red meat, fried food, fast food, pastries and sweets, “white” carbs; don’t drink pop, juice, or alcohol; eat small, frequent meals; make a habit of exercise; and take a daily multivitamin. He also said that losing any weight would also help my numbers. Since April I have lost about 15 pounds, and I have followed his recommendations pretty carefully. I am going to get another round of bloodwork in October and I really hope the results are much better!

    I already hinted that the weight loss is going well again, after many months of just breaking even. Yesterday I weighed 146.0. My lightest weight in my adult years was 143.2, and for the life of me I couldn’t break below that number … which isn’t too far away now. I intend to blow past that soon enough. My goal for now is to reach 144 by the end of October, but where I’m sitting now I think I might be able to reach that goal a month early!

    By the way, I glanced at your VS Angels team and saw your summer challenge. I think that was a fantastic idea, and I’d love for you to set that up on the 110-ville team some time if you’re game. It could be over the holidays or next summer. If you’re too busy I understand that too!

    I am about 3 weeks in! I love it because of that too, and because it makes you feel so strong in every part of your body where cardio just makes your legs feel strong. I haven't lost much weight yet, but from the reviews Ive seen, most people don't lose weight until the 2nd month so I hope that happens to me too. I also will push off a workout til the next day if Im too exhausted (though I try not to do it more than one time/week) and if I feel like going for a run (like today) Ill push my insanity workout til tomorrow.
