My names Tara, I've been on Spark for quite some time now :P I started off my weight loss I think about a year and a half ago. From that time I've lost about 75lbs. My starting weight was somewhere in the 300's.

I took a long break from losing pounds, but I maintained my weight and did not gain any back. Even though I was not exercising (at all XD) the way I eat has forever changed. It made me really happy to realize after so long of not working to lose more weight I didn't gain any back. I want everyone who is doubting themselves to know it is possible. I have been over weight, no, OBESE, my entire life and I used to think it was just who I was meant to be, that no matter what I did or how hard I tried, being fit and healthy was just something unattainable for me. I felt hopeless and defeated.

My first year of weight loss was not easy, not at all. After the first 5-10 minutes of working out I would feel exhausted. I wanted to go home and pass out as soon as I was done. I stared with smaller work outs around 30 mins or so once or twice a week and then worked my way up to a full hour 5 days a week. Now, when I go to the gym I'm excited. I can work out for a full hour, sweat a little and then feel tired, but completely amazing afterward. So, my advice to all of you starting out is to KEEP AT IT NO MATTER HOW HARD IT IS OR HOW MUCH IT TAKES. I promise, it's worth it and it won't always be that way.

I still have a long way to go, I'm about half way through my weight loss journey now. But, I can say that the weight I've lost so far has had a very positive impact on my life. Physically I feel better and I'm overall better as a person. I no longer feel like "the fat girl" every time I walk into a room. I'm just me. Working out and seeing that I have the ability to be anything I really want to be has given me confidence that is truly priceless.

Fitness Minutes: 1,966

My Goals:
Right now my short term goal is to get out of the 200's (which will be phenomenal, I can't wait!) and get into some size 14 jeans! =P


My Program:
I'm just now starting out again, so I'm taking it a bit slow until I get fully going again. I try to have 1200-1550 calories a day. I've been working out 2-3 times a week.



Personal Information:
I'm a Texas girl, which makes me awesome =P lol
I attend the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and will be graduated by the end of next year (scary!!!)
I'm majoring in half computer science/half business and I'm VP of the computer science club. If want to know anything else, ask me!


Other Information:
I love most things Japanese. If you like anime & manga we'll be fast friends :P

    I have just started my last term for my AA in Accounting, and will be starting my BS is Business with an Accounting focus in April. Still have yet to decide if I want to go the CPA route or go into Forensic Accounting. I keep finding more and more types of careers that Accountants can do that I had never heard of before. Hopefully I will eventually know what it is I want to do when I grow up! :)

    Things are going pretty well. I hit the 10lb lost mark this week! emoticon and I fel pretty good because hubby and I are up to walking 3 miles at a stretch. :) And I started Strength training yesterday. So I'm doing well. I got into a slump at the end of last week though, and dissapeared a little bit. But I'm doing better now.
