Hi, I'm Shelley. I have had a lifelong struggle with weight and all the related issues. I was the chubby girl who wanted to hide during PE. Hi, I'm Shelley. I have had a lifelong struggle with weight and all the related issues. I was the chubby girl who wanted to hide during PE. My motto was that everything could always be made better with a cake or ice cream. I joined Sparkpeople in May 2009, and it has focused me in ways I would never dreamed of. I have learned that healthy habits ARE possible, that I do have the ability to exercise (it's not just for skinny people!), and that I can feel 100 times better with healthy, whole foods. Have there been hiccups along the way? Absolutely. Do I think I have a lot more to learn? Oh yeah. But it can be a fun ride!

Weight loss goals:
Starting weight - 253
Goals:
228 (25 pounds, 10% of starting weight)
210 (18 pounds) - the weight I was when I met the hubby!
200 (10 pounds)
190 (10 pounds)
180 (10 pounds)
175 (5 pounds)
170 (5 pounds)
165 (5 pounds)
160 (5 pounds)
As I go, I know it only gets harder, so it will hopefully be easier by focusing on smaller amounts.
My Program:
1. Do cardio 30 minutes every day; strength training for 30 minutes a day, 3 times per week.
2. Eat within my calorie range at least 6 days per week.
3. Eat a vegetarian diet 90% of the time.
