Happy New Year!

Am not going to drone on about myself - ask away - anyone interested just drop me a message (pleeeeease) - am back after 3 years away but all good habits maintained.

Just changed jobs, got a bit too muscley and thought I'd come back here for a bit of structure and I suppose if I'm honest, this place feels a bit like home.

My Goals:
To stay fit, lean, healthy and just look like a picture of health, but a bit less muscle.

Still fed up with being on my own :-(

My Program:
Even now I still set small and realistic goals. I avoid thinking about the long term 'thin' thing and focus on real achievements like exercise getting easier, my exercise targets being set so I can ENJOY what I choose to do.

I limit my treats so that when I do have them I enjoy them all the more.

I carefully consider every single thing that passes my lips. I ask myself do I really want it?, would I miss it if I didn't have it?, half a second after eating it will I feel glad or angry?

And then I act accordingly.

I stopped lying to myself and making excuses for being big. I acknowledged that there was a normal, healthy, thin person screaming to be set free!

I have a Collie that I take huge care with - diet, exercise, lifestyle, stimulation, treats, balancing everything. So I decided to apply the same principles to me as I do to him. What a difference. He eats to live and does not live to eat.

Personal Information:
I live in Crawley, West Sussex, UK.

My email: shmilyuk@yahoo.com

It's right on the south coast for those of you in the rest of the world.

Other Information:
My favourite quote: "When things go wrong - come back twice as strong! Gordon Ramsey May 2004

Just added you as a friend after reading your comment on Coach Nicole's blog re: iPod tunes. Anyone who picks Verdi's Requiem as workout music is worth knowing! :)

Your fitness achievements are impressive, too. I like the mindfulness approach - no blaming or shaming yourself, just decide before you take that bite if it's a good idea or not.

Pretty dog, too. Are you sure he's a collie and not an Aussie Shepherd?

Thanks for the comment about what to eat the night before a morning workout. It was perfect timing for me because starting tomorrow I'm going to switch my workouts to 7am. If you have any good whole grain recipes let me know :)
    Thanks,
    Kelly

    I've never made a fortune,
and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much,
    I'm happy anyhow.

And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
    I'm drinking from my saucer,
    'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven't got a lot of riches,
    and sometimes the going's tough.
But I've got loving ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for his blessings,
    and the mercies He's bestowed.
    I'm drinking from my saucer,
    'Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong,
    My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows I have hoed.
    I'm drinking from my saucer,
    'Cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
    I'm already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
    'Cause my cup has overflowed.

When I think of how many people
in this world have it worse than I do.
I realize just how blessed most of us really are.
