Hello! My name is Renee, and as of Christmas Eve 2019, I am on the path of Intuitive Eating as I slowly continue moving back toward my natural healthy weight, wherever that ends up being.

Over the past five years, I have lost a significant amount of weight - over 100 pounds down from my all-time high - and I am continuing to slowly lose. I haven't even been at my current weight since 1994, so I am still learning as I go where I am going to be. For now, I have set a goal of 180 pounds, as I am a trauma survivor and don't yet feel safe about the idea of going lower than that. I am okay with 180 though - that will be a total weight loss of 139 pounds, quite an accomplishment!

For the most part, I eat lots of whole grains, beans/tofu, greens, veggies, fruits, with small amounts of nuts and seeds. I eat these foods freely - I neither count calories nor measure portions. I also eat things like peanut butter on whole grain seed bread and Amy's Kitchen meals. I especially love her chili.

I no longer track and plan every morsel I put in my mouth...and surprise - I am still losing excess weight as I naturally regularly choose deeply satisfying foods.

My Goals:
For now, I have set a goal weight of 180. Last I weighed, I am down 109 pounds. I don't know where I will end up.

I will still be eating the same way as I do today, so I don't worry about "being done," there is no "end date," I am just making healthy eating decisions and watching my body shape change over time, until it gets to the point where weight loss naturally stops. Right now I am still carrying excess weight, so my intuitive eating is still resulting in weight loss.

Intuitive Eating teaches us to stop weighing, but I am not totally there yet while I am still losing weight. When I get to my natural weight range, then I will probably get into a comfort zone and give up the scale.
