My name is Dawn, but in my family usually called me Sissy. Because all the "Sissy" names I wanted were already taken, I ended up admitting holto my date of birth in my name. But I don’t really mind people knowing how old I am...so not a problem!

Fitness Minutes: 297,980

My Goals:
To lose 50 lbs, and be healthier because of regular exercise and change in diet. 2020 started to consciously eat more whole plant based food, with limited dairy and meat. I like to think of it as trying to be healthy and yet flexible as needed. It has worked well during the Covid 19 crisis for me.

My Program:
Love the 5%:Challenges. Minimum Exercise of some sort for 15 minutes each day and Usually go to the pool for water walking 3 times a week. Note....pool closed since March due to Covid 19.

Personal Information:
I am originally from the US, currently living in Canada on the west coast. I am Franciscan Poor Clare Sister. I had a left knee replacement 12 years ago and have put the replacement for the other knee on hold. These metal parts DO NOT make me function (or look) like the old Bionic Woman! At this point the exercise I can do, and mobility I have is limited. I am limited to walking, riding a bike and swimming, so I do have options. I had open heart surgery in my 20s, and now At 70 have some residual damage showing, so have had both a cardioversion, and three years later a cardiac ablation. So good so far. But sodium really does me in! In 2020 I was enrolled in a multi approach program by my cardiologist and following that we are trying to do more whole plant based eating. It am finding it makes a real difference in my body which is healthier for me.
I was an Air Traffic Controller in the US Navy until 1981 when I joined the Poor Clares. I am an avid reader, love to cook and bake, as wel

Other Information:
Lost 35 lbs the first year I joined, but have put it back on. And am working to try and get it back off!

Thanks for your comments on the house selling and my loss of my dear Copper. One so very exciting and one so very sad. I stopped by there last night before Bible Study (at the new parish. Getting involved even now!) and saw the finished cat door from my bedroom to the screenporch. It brought tears to my eyes thinking about how much I know he would have enjoyed the new porch. I hope I'll get over that teary eyed stage pretty quick. I'm thinking it may last a lot longer than I'd want it to. He was really such a great cat. He'll always have a place in my heart.

It's nice to see you today. Even though the summer challenge is over, it's nice to check in with the nice friends I met. You, of course, being one of them.

I have started a new streak for autumn. Day 3.
