Hello Sparkles! I am on my 2nd serious journey to lose weight. My first weight loss journey began after the birth of my second son. I joined Weight Watchers using their PointsPlus program and I lost about 60 lbs. Hello Sparkles! I am on my 2nd serious journey to lose weight. My first weight loss journey began after the birth of my second son. I just remember the first week or two, I was so hungry, but then my body adjusted and I learned more about the program and it became so easy. I thought I'd stay with WW for the rest of my life. But... maintenance is hard! I stopped weighing, measuring, and tracking my food. I just wanted to eat like a normal person... not weighing every single thing I ate. I tried to lose weight on my own, but I realized that I have a tendency to overeat even healthy/clean foods. I did the low-carb high-fat thing for a while. I have to admit, that felt like the most naturally occurring, stress-free way to eat, but then cookies, ice cream, and skillet cornbread with honey butter happened... and they were SO good! And since I had been without those type of foods for a while, I kinda binged. I want to find a way to have carbs and sweets sometimes and still be on track to lose weight. This time around, I have 40lbs to lose. I'm going to try this calorie counting thing and tracking with SparkPeople. I even used an online calculator to tell me the amount of each macro I should have. And yes, this means that I've dusted off my food scale (pray for me). So far, I am finding it difficult to meet my protein requirement, but I have hopes that as I learn how to eat better that the protein will work itself out. I am sort of afraid of not having a program to follow. I kind of miss WW and knowing that I had those weekly points that I could enjoy. I don't know how to figure out a splurge within the confines of calories.
