I started this journey with SP four years ago. During that time I've managed to gain weight. I've fallen repeatedly and stopped getting up. Not this time, not this time, not this time. This time I will succeed in transforming my relationship with food and will lose the weight, become fit, and become healthy.

My Goals:
My goal is to not be plus size anymore! I'm sick of being XL!

My larger goal is to get as far away from the number 200 as I possibly can, and to never come close to it again.

Update: I'm going to outline my goals and then fill in the date when achieved:

Go from "obese" category to "overweight" category:

Go from XL to L:

Fit into my size 18 pants that are too tight:

Have my size 18 pants too big to wear:

Shop in the regular section of the store, not the "woman's" department:

Run 1 mile without stopping: Accomplished! 7/9/10 (yay!)

Run a 5K:

My Program:
I've had to really re-think what I'm doing, it's not working. No one to blame but me.

New Program:

Eat 1200-1500 calories/day
Run/Walk 5x/week
Train for 10-mile race (10/11)

Personal Information:
I'm married with two exceptional children, one boy, one girl, very different personalities! I have a golden retriever that I mostly like, except for the shedding and pooping!

I'm 43, grew up in NJ, lived in VT for 10 years, and moved to TX almost 3 years ago. (I will never go back to snow again!) "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!"

Other Information:
"Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels."

Hey, good to "see" you! It's tough to stick with it sometimes, isn't it? I've been pretty much sticking with it but not nearly as active on the site, since life gets in the way. Holy cow this has been slow going -- 2 years to lose 30 pounds -- but I keep trying to convince myself that since it's coming off slowly maybe it'll STAY off.

Best wishes to you for a happy and successful 2012. Remember what Dory from "Finding Nemo" says. . . just keep swimming, just keep swimming. . .

Boy, am I late in sending this, but thank you so much for the treadmill. What a wonderful gift! I also hope you are feeling better. I'm so late in responding, I'm sure you are well by now, or at least I sure hope you are. Things have been a little bit crazy here since school started too. We homeschool so the kids' schooling keeps me busy as well as them. It also means a few thousand extra trips across the state each week for various classes and since Zack is still bowling 4 days a week (3 leagues + practice) he has no time to finish drivers ed. We may have to cancel school for a while just so he can concentrate on driving. Him having a license would be a HUGE help.

I'm trying really hard to run every other day now but some days the schedule doesn't allow it, but for the most part, I'm getting them in. Of course, I've gained 3 pounds since I started running, but I am able to button my jeans once again. It's so weird how I loose inches but gain so much weight from running.

Ok, gotta run. Got a dermatologist appt. this morning. Thanks again for the treadmill. Can't wait to imagine I'm on it the next time the weather is bad. :) Hope you are feeling better too!

LOL at your pyramid comment! My boyfriend had to explain it in detail about 5 times before I understood what he was talking about. I think I was subconsciously trying to avoid doing it!

    I hope you are well!

Thanks for checking on me. It means a lot! I'm well, fat, but well. LOL When I stopped Sparking, I pretty much stopped everything. Everything healthy, that is. I had a little out patient surgery in the spring & couldn't run for a while & by the time I could, it was hitting 100 degrees every day with about a 4,000% humidity level. Even at 7 or 8 in the morning, it would be difficult to breathe outdoors. I ended up spending the majority of the summer on the couch, & boy does it show! I've started running again, or trying to run, I should say. Good grief! Can't believe how quickly & totally I lost my stamina, not to mention how much weight I gained.

These days I mostly blog on
    / or
The 2nd one is more for knitting related stuff, but I may drop the first one & only have the 2nd blog. It's pretty confusing & time consuming keeping up with 2 & these days, I'm not doing a very good job keeping up with either. Sorry - I couldn't figure out how to put a real link here.

So, how are you? Guess I should go read your blogs, huh? :) Thanks again for checking up on me. It really does mean a lot to know that someone out there besides my squashed couch cares. :) Hugs!

Hi, thanks for reading the blog I posted and taking the time to comment. To answer your question about the milk and the connection to breast cancer is simply, no and no. Good luck on your healthier lifestyle.
